Yes! Exciting times ahead! A President Trump will shake up establishments and bring fresh air into the political arena. Throw the old stodgy stereo-type politicians for a loop and put the country into a better position as the dominant world leader. All the liberal cronies are shivering in fear and gnashing their teeth over his success. Haa-haa

@nishikat the Republican party was formed of anti-slavery activists who opposed the Democrat (slavery) Party?

So many negative comments here. The reason the scam works is because sons do NOT call their parents regularly. It seems that males in general do not contact their parents unless they need something (help, money, advice, etc), and parents are conditioned to respond to their "little boy" to try to help them. Figure out how to get sons to call home regularly, would help.

The Pope is the one who jumped the shark! He is a hypocrite for charging someone with actions he himself already supports. I have been to the Vatican and it is a fortress, no refugees are gonna get in past the walls and guards. So maybe president Trump has the idea right. Just do what the Vatican does, charge an entry fee. If you are not a citizen and want to enter the US we'll issue a day-pass for a small fee (money will be used to pay the loan on the new wall).

Roger that. Dumped Macy's, dumped Starbucks, dumping and shorting Apple. Besides, everyone knows without Jobs its just not Apple anymore.

Still scratching my head why Japan of all countries is not the leading geothermal energy producer. China has the greatest amount of resource but lacks the technology. Japan is sitting on a goldmine of work if they could produce the experts in the field.

Shoots! I guess men don't buy chocolate in Japan. No one cares about enviro-wacko-labor issues.

Turn it in to the police, because that is the law. After one year it may become yours if it is unclaimed.

Posted in: Japan, wary of outsiders, keeps doors closed to refugees See in context

No to refugees. Japan does not need to import another cult following bunch of religious zealots. They have their own issues after dealing with the Aum Shinrikyo cult. If Japan opens its doors to immigrants it should be for those that want and can assimilate to the Japanese culture, not those that want to bring their own culture and make demands for Japan to change and adapt to them.

Ishizaki met Hirasawa through an online chat site.

No one commented on the fact this is online crime. People really need to be careful about actually meeting online acquaintances.

Hope not. That's not an umbrella. The physics of resting a tray is different and requires less effort than grasping a parachute-like umbrella that could exert enough vector force to unexpectedly offset balance.

Posted in: Why are oil and gas companies calling for more action on climate change? See in context

Morons that believe in the Global Warming Nonsense have invested deeply and will find they have no way to recover their "investment". It was, and still is a scam, Humans cannot raise or lower the temperature of their climate for any sustained amount of time. The Earth's system of oceans and atmosphere coupled with the Solar and Cosmic energy govern the temperature. Go and save your puny carbon footprint while another volcano erupts.

Definitely more to the story than presented. Probably not your average "coffee shop" with a regular customer. If she handed the letter back without reading it then its telling something. She has little regard and probably loathes him and her job.
