Borders are close, what are you talking about? Only Japanese can re-enter the country, but foreigners are forbidden!

Yes please do it! It is almost one year I am waiting to enter japan, even if vaccinated. I would do the quarantine too, but please open up!

The whole world is vaccinating and the most of First World countries are starting re-opening everything. Japan is last, and it's a shame for the third economy in the world (it will not be such for a long time, if it keep going like that).

@Yubaru
That's not true. Students can't even apply for VISA. Some japanese students can go abroad, while the opposite is not possible.

@Zoroto
Japan is last for vaccination rate in the civilized world, and you are worried about immigration of few thousands of vaccinated people? Ahah that's making no sense

So, will we international students finally be able to enter japan (after one year)? What are your sensations from Japan?

All this indignation in the comments FOR NOTHING! Japan already banned all visitors and students and workers also. That's just a shame for the country

@theResident
That's only one reason. There are many more: first of all, learning isn't as effective online. Secondly, some acrivities can only be led in presence (I can't graduate until then!). Thirdly, it is about self-organization: after I won a scolarship, I left my job for coming in Japan. I would look for something else, if just Japan said "no international students until date", but I can't because they just keep saying "next week", "in two weeks max". They just don't communicate with population. It's mentally destabilizing, and it's frustrating to see very more dangerous athletes enter with no problem. Simply, japan government doesn't give a **** about education.

@Reckless
Expect a big policy change after the Olympics regarding international students.
The problem are the government priorities. There are vaccinated students (like me) who are following online classes from 1AM to 9AM because of jet lag. I am vaccinated, I would stay close in my room for 14 days (and even more, if necessary), I would never be a danger for japanese people. I just ask to be able to study, but after Olympic it would be to late, we are waiting since last year with any information on when we will be able to enter! That's inhumane.

Are you kidding me?? International students can't enter japan, even with a 14-days quarantine and doble negative PCR tests, while an Olympic athlet with symtoms can enter and live oin an hotel paid by government? Japan, I am sorry but your leaders are completely crazy.

As an International student who should come to Japan to study and hopefully graduate, I can't understand why even with 14-days self quarantine and PCR test before and after leaving we can't come to Japan. Our future depends on it, and I understand the need of safety of japanese people, but we should be super-checked!! (A lot more than locals)
