Where is anti-furist Sugimoto Aya when you need her. Maybe she can slap and spank some sense into this guy.

Moron seems a bit harsh, unless he is one of those drivers flaunting every traffic rule in the book. Gullible, yes. He even paid the restaurant bill for this guy, twice.

Seems this guy has an MO that pays off...
Kawamoto owns dozens of office buildings in Tokyo under the name Marugen and has been buying and selling real estate in Hawaiʻi and California since the 1980s, and has been accused of making money by driving real estate values down by various methods without respecting the current owners, buying them out and then selling them when the price increased.
He has been criticized for evicting tenants of his rental homes on short notice so he could sell the properties, as in 2002 when he gave hundreds of California tenants 30 days to leave.
Two years later, he served eviction notices to tenants in 27 Oʻahu rental homes, mostly in pricey Hawaiʻi Kai, saying they had to leave within a month. He said he wanted to sell the houses to take advantage of rising prices.
Some neighbors are unhappy with Kawamoto's plan, speculating that he is trying to drive down real estate values so he can snap up even more homes.

I don't think he worries too much about who supports him. He is still making a cool 1.450.000 yen a month, which is just 50.000 yen less than being the chairman.

It was just a tit-for-tat for what happened with Kosovo and the fact that Georgia is cosy with the "west". Of course souvereign countries have the right which side they want to choose, but bearing in mind the nature of the Russian government, suspicious about anything, more prudence should have been observed. Also, these Russian "peace keepers" in South-Ossetia did nothing to contain those bands of rebels hitting on Georgians living there. Besides, these two regions in Georgia are autonomous, but nevertheless still a part of Georgia. The people of Cheznya were also so eager about becoming a part of Russia (again), that they fought two wars about it...

Posted in: Japan seeks to arrest anti-whaling activists See in context
So, is Japan trying to have these people extradited to Japan or have them tried in their respective countries? Boarding a vessel might constitute entering the soil of the country where said ship is registered. Just harrasing in international waters seems a (very) long shot to bother Interpol with. Interpol issued two warrants for the arrest of El Cino, accused of far more serious crimes and the Japanese government flatly ignored Interpol. Maybe they haven't forgotten. As for whaling, consumption of whale meat nowadays is negligable as compared to the lean post war years. Favourite food? Supermarkets sell more "tainted" Chinese eal than whale meat. Actually, chances are your super doesn't even carry it. Whaling is bad business. It costs loads of tax payer's money to support only a hand full of people. It seems more a matter of saving one's pride and the "world against us" mentality.

More rimocon? Anyway, this TV shopping business is pretty expensive. They claim that the products they peddle are cheap and some might be, but if you do some searching, the same products are often much cheaper elsewhere.

Yes, well, most people know you shouldn't do this and that, but there will always be folks trying to outrun the cops. I think there is something here like stopping pursuit when things get out of hand. Don't cop cars/bikes nowadays have camera equipment? Must be easy to take a picture of the licence plate.

Anticipating while driving is seemingly rare. Truck drivers are often in a hurry and driving way too fast. Funny to read bumper stickers of trucks speeding past you: "o saki ni douzo".

Nothing else to do in the Ginza? I wondered why one would take pictures and video's of a dog. Talk about empty lives. Maybe they view the pictures later as a reminder how pathetic they are. Well, it's Sunday, I'm off for work.
