Wow! I can't believe the amount of idiotic comments being allowed to be posted here calling the wife an idiot! Do you guys have no respect? Whether she was right or wrong is neither here nor there, you just don't call someone who has died as a tragic result of a mistake, stupid. Seems many of you care for nothing but your own opinions!

@LittleIdaho - your post, reiterated by BlueWitch, is by far, the most intellectual I've seen on JT in many years! Love it!

When Ishihara dies, there will be no tears shed I'm sure. I'm still baffled how this clown has been elected time and time again, given his derogatory remarks over the years!

@Serrano - yes, you're right about the rice pudding thing!

Tell Japanese about rice pudding and they balk at the idea! Literally! But it's perfectly okay to put seafood at the bottom of a custard pudding!

Many of you automatically assume that Japan only has Japanese rice.

In fact, 90% of the rice sold in Japan is from China!! Japanese rice is, for the most part, exported overseas where it fetches a higher price.

And I'm assuming that this woman has virtually no culinary skills, but has merely pieced together, recipes she's learned (like 95% of Japanese women) from her mother and grandmother. Nothing wrong with that, but the fact that this even made the news, shows that it's just for publicity to get people to buy her book, and that someone actually believes this is more important than world affairs!

It still baffles me why people have an interest in other peoples' lives with stuff like this etc. So she's getting divorced...good luck with that, but there are far worse things happening in the world!!

Posted in: Apple planning early 2012 launch for new iPad: WSJ See in context

I have to say, while I love using my iPad 2, I much prefer my first gen iPad in terms of comfort when holding it. I also like the camera function on iPad 2, and using it with Facetime, and Skype, I'm impressed with the overall quality of the video streaming. (Albeit Skype is a bit grainy). For some bizarre reason, iPad2 will not recognize any of my movies on iTunes, downloaded from the iTunes Store, and I've given up trying to sync them, while the iPad 1 has no problem with this menial task. The only problem I've had with iPad2 so far, is that it tends to crash more than the iPad 1 does. But, I use it at work and it has made a huge difference, and much much easier to carry around than a laptop. As for the screen resolution theory on iPad 3 when it comes, you really can't get much better than the current resolution as it is on iPad2, heck, even iPad1 is fantastic! And unless the iPad3 comes with a better camera resolution, higher powered processors (highly likely), I won't be looking at buying it anytime soon when it is released. And I'm still fighting with the automatic sync between my iMac, both iPads and my iPhone4, but will sort it out, I'm sure. But none beat the iPhone4 for resolution, and it's a fact that the human eye, will never be able to digest a resolution greater than the one the iphone4 gives us. The iPhone4 (mine is white) is by far the best handheld phone I've ever owned (although I would like the waterproof functionality of my old G'Z One on it). Whether the iPad3 will be thinner or not, matters not to me. Too thin is not always better. For now, I'm more than content with what I have.

Posted in: Bodies of 3 missing after Tenryu River boat accident recovered See in context

I don't drive anywhere in my car unless everyone is buckled up. I see no reason why this boating company did not enforce the use of life vests. It's common sense, but then again, look at which country we're in...no sense of danger.

We're a long way from having these types of computers in our homes, but when they become available, I'll have at least two - then I won't worry about leaving them switched on when I go out, because they can talk to each other! Aaah...a far cry from the old Amstrad days! :-)

If anything, it will probably boost her morale to aim higher. In a country where men ''think'' they are the better sex, she will do well to make Captain.

Posted in: Teacher arrested for molesting woman on train See in context

So let me get this straight: he was on a train, with other people around, the woman was sleeping, he allegedly fondled her breasts, yet no-one stopped him or said anything, he gets off the train, she accuses him of fondling her breasts, and several passengers THEN apprehend him.

I'm not buying it.

Posted in: Nissan fumes over BBC TV program 'Top Gear' See in context

The Leaf is a complete waste of money! There are not enough charging stations, the battery life has to come from external sources, which in turn means paying more than you need to for the electricity, which also means power stations need more fuel. Are electric cars the future? I don't think so!

Top Gear won an Emmy in 2005. Not bad for some unknowns

Unknowns? UNKNOWNS? The show has been going for many years and is one of the best shows on British television! Just because you haven't seen it enough, doesn't make it full of ''unknowns''!

Facebook is more than enough for me, and even with all the spamming and junk on FB, I'm considering remaking my MySpace account! Google+? No thanks.

It was inevitable. She didn't take care of her health, was well known for being an alcoholic and drug abuser. Such a waste of a young life and talent. Over the years she had gone from a vibrant, beautiful young woman, to looking old and disheveled. Again, such a waste.

First of all, by Zuckerburg's own words, there are not 750 million users, there are just over 500 million.

Secondly, the video function will be laggy at best until FB can upgrade servers to handle the load of power and data required. Until then, Skype is still my main video tool.

I used to do Amway in the UK and had two friends sign up who went very far with it. They suddenly disappeared from the business due to the ridiculously high costs of having to purchase crap they didn't need. I think Amway has changed now, but I no longer deal with them.
