sounds suspicious to me. If the husband had a key to his own house he would investigate first then call the police.

He is also worth a bit of money so it would be a good idea to call 110 even if it takes a while to communicate. If it's safe to do so follow him.

As has been mentioned there are different types of hostess clubs and if I remember back in the day. Some Eikaiwa teachers were hostesses by night. Some preferred hostessing to teaching because of the added bonus of alcohol...

Teaching English is also a profession where stalkers and possibly murderers can strike. This girl was a university student working a part-time job in a club. Brantastik don't be so quick to put down women who work in mizushobai business after all there wouldn't be this kind of business without the men who demand it.

I think they just used the terms younger and older to differentiate. Don't understand what the fuss is all about. Better than writing the 'mental' twin sister.

There seems to be a lot of banter about men buying dinners etc for women. I don't think I've come across many British men who are willing to pay for a dinner or buy presents. In fact they have the easy way out by claiming benefits. Japanese men will claim on company expenses but Americans are by far the most generous and probably vunerable to 'high maintenance' women (who don't ever want to work)

JMannGod
clearly the 'abuse' angle will be played by all mothers who steal their children away from their fathers. It is a low, calculating slur designed to stick and create an unappealing image.
as for the case above... perhaps she deserved a smack? Any woman who would deny a father visitation sounds pretty unhinged already..
JMannGod you deserve a smack just for that. When a man or woman becomes abusive or violent then they have no right to be around kids especially their own. This woman made a difficult decision to leave. There is not much support for single mothers in Japan so don't presume she wanted to leave the guy she thought would be a great husband/father.

Doesn't make sense to offer another burger if it wasn't good in the first place. But if people want a burger and a half(or just less than a half) for the price of one then I guess that's ok. Or eat two halves and get them for free.

Posted in: One zoo to avoid See in context
Higashiyama zoo is old but my cousin was the head vet there and I know they spent a lot of money on a new extension for the reptile section. Yes zoos and circus are the same when you consider keeping animals under the control of humans but there is a lot of research and cooperation with other zoos world wide to breed and protect the animals there.
London zoo is another example of an old zoo where conditions for animals are poor. So I would consider a lot of places to be unsuitable for keeping animals (not just in Asia)... so don't just name and shame when you have not even asked the zoo for a comment.

Left Softbank because they charged 70000 yen 1month when my kid (7) downloaded manga on my phone. When I spoke to the Softbank shop the shop assistant said something like 'most Japanese opt for the downloadhodai pack' meaning 'you are gaijin so shoganai!' I then realised the shop was just a franchise with really bad staff....but left anyway. Which means I would have upgraded to an iphone but now I can't.Thought about the ipod touch but heard wifi connections aren't great either.

Womanforwomen
Generally, the men are unemployed or freelancers, divorced, seperated etc. They offer to help women. Generally women from certain countries. Women seperated from their Japanese husbands, or women who are unhappy with their Jhusbands or widows.
Womanforwomen you cease to amaze with your generalizations. Hakujinsensei thank you! Womenforwomen did not say he or she had 'friends' just 'acquaintances' so I am guessing she/he has none....not surprisingly. The woman in the hotel may have been using the guy...and he got angry...but who knows until he says.

In a way I have to appreciate that JT is keeping track of this kind of news. Imagine if some lady meets this kind of guy on a date. Especially the foreign ones as the Jladies will never go for this kind. This kind of single men target only foreign women. They will use them and kill them later? Quite scary.
Womanforwomen
It is amazing that you have such an insight to what Jladies would or would not do.(and how you presume foreign women are gullible and weak near or far from Japan)And how this guy would target foreign women....he obviously went for a Japanese woman in the first place.. so please stop writing these useless comments. This guy will be in hiding but if he is desperate he will take any opportunity open to him to survive..I think dating would be the last thing on his mind.

Posted in: Jun Hasegawa capitalizes on 'haafu' look See in context
"Haafu" is not derogatory in Japan but I had blonde hair and am "half" and had a lot of negative comments growing up in a city (not Tokyo). It was mainly from mothers of other kids though and a teacher who said I would need to die my hair dark to fit in. The bullying wasn't violent as it was in the UK. After a certain age being 'half' becomes a positive thing because we're blessed with beautiful features of both races..usually! But I am not impressed with Jun..brought up in New Hampshire and Hawaii and went to an International school in Japan. Sounds like she could have done more with herself and she wants to 'help kids in Africa'..oh please
