Shallow epicenter? Epicenter is a point on the Earth's surface.

Posted in: No war See in context

The mishandling by Abe occurred when he pledged the $200 million to fight ISIS while they were at the same time holding a Japanese hostage. Other than that, I think that he did his best to use allies in the region to attempt to negotiate for the release of Kenji Goto.

Posted in: Do you agree with the Japanese government's decision to provide $200 million in non-military humanitarian aid for those displaced by conflict in the Middle East? See in context

No. There are not enough known "good guys" over there to be sure that this money is not making things worse. The announcement of Japan's commitment by Abe seems to have been a big factor in motivating ISIS to behead Kenji Goto.

Japanese men obviously have bad taste and do not appreciate the beauty of their women. Long straight hair is not manageable for every woman and many women's faces look more beautiful when framed by shorter hair.

Posted in: Japan beats Egypt 3-0 to reach Olympic men's soccer semifinal See in context

This was a very rough game. Egypt was called on 13 fouls, Japan on 11 fouls. Both of the last two goals for Japan came after Egypt fouled and turned over the ball. Nonetheless, Japan outplayed them and the Japanese players were very humble and friendly toward their opponents at the end of the match.
