The accident is an isolated case of unreplaced air bag. Anyhow, I wonder if Takata still in business.

In a male-dominated society, a lady bringing to light the misconduct of military men would have been unmistakably tough. Hats off to Ms. Rina Gonoi for mustering the courage to come forward!
Glad to hear that the Defense Ministry took a pivotal action to discharge men-in-uniform who did not remain true to their oath of service to Japan and its countrymen.

If the Japanese footballers had stuck on their guns right up to the last minute and stepped on the gas in terms of ball possession, they could have advanced to the quarterfinals. But Samurai Blue visibly lost momentum in the second half.
Anyhow, it goes without saying that Japan put up a good fight and has established itself as a force to be reckoned with and a team to watch for in future major football tournaments.

"...opaque budget request"
Opaque is not the best descriptor to use for "budget request."
How about "vague budget request" or "obscure budget request?"

Without sanctions, it's all bark and no bite. Russia's invasion of Ukraine should be seen as an attack to democracy. But if Putin could get away with what he did in Georgia, Moldova, and Crimea, how is this going to be any different? I won't be surprised if Poland will be the next country he'll invade. China is closely monitoring this chaos while intimately thinking of Taiwan. Democracy is hanging by a thread. The next thing you'll know, Communism is right at your doorstep.

Posted in: Mask mandates imposed by governments and employers: Persecution or protection? See in context
Real talk, those unvaccinated who feel punished for wearing protective masks are but a bunch of selfish people who only think of themselves while potentially putting at risk the lives of others. And mind you, most of them are the same people who do not believe that COVID-19 exists. Just imagine their audacity to challenge governments.
I do not know why vaccination has come to a point of being politicized. The idea behind it all along was to give immunity to people from certain diseases. So, in a nutshell, it's all about public health. What part of it is hard to understand?

My heart breaks for the old man who is in the surgery room right now fighting for his dear life.
My heart also breaks for the two students who burned the midnight oil to have a shot at their universities of choice.
But my heart mostly breaks for the 17-year old attacker for all the obvious reasons.
