Yaks? Japanese NEVER refer to the yakuza as "yaks."

Posted in: 'The Ballad of Bob Dylan' serves beginners and fans See in context

This has got to be the most poorly written (or edited) review I have ever read. I do not believe Dylan ever made a "comeback" as a "secular" musician; his "religious " albums were among his most popular.

No, No, bias or agenda in this article.... Being a pervert is EXACTLY why someone should be disqualified from holding office. And what the hell is "Transgendered"? Of course it is an official disorder!!! Why should we be legally forced to accept a freak's psychotic delusions? In any case, they have exactly the same rights as everybody else.

I am sure the victims of the earthquake/tsunami will really appreciate lyrics such as John Lennon's claptrap "Imagine no possessions...". And never having heard the Lady Gagme song "Born this Way", based on her public comments, I can only assume it refers to sexual perversion. Do we really have to shove this garbage down people's throats under the guise of "Help Japan". Me thinks there is an agenda here, and it is not about helping Japan.

I actually saw Yoshiki in concert back in 1994 and can truly say it was totally vapid - no musical talent on display whatsoever. It could just as easily been a chain saw instead of a guitar.

Posted in: Schwarzenegger calls for same-sex weddings See in context

"Same-sex" marriage is an oxymoran. The word marriage implies maternity (and paternity, I assume). I refuse to accept this totalitarian, thought-control takeover of our language. So-called "gays" have exactly the same rights as everyone else (although, they should have fewer); why do they demand special, pervert privlige?

The term "Amerasian" always struck me as add, as "American" is not a race or ethnicity. If the father (or mother) is an American of Asian desent and the mother (or father) is Asian, is their child considered "Amerasian"?

some14some - What a dumb thing to say; Free Markets have done more to lift people out of poverty than anything else ever. Financial crimes are not an intrinsic part of Free Markets.

Posted in: U.S. Congress completes overhaul of health care; more threats come in See in context

Yes, it's no big deal, just like Social Security, Medicare/Medicaid, Welfare, were and are no big deal/ (sarcasm). These programs have totally changed the US for the worse. The republicans are the only ones who have any idea of all what freedom means. Healthcare is not a right; that is absurd. This healthcare bill is no different that slavery. Free! Free! Free! Kill your infants, bankrupt your living descendants, the fruits of your labor are someone ele's right!! The BEST healthcare system in the world trashed. Shortages of doctors... YES hope and chains. And people wonder how Hitler consolidated power... dumb Americans!!!

Posted in: Woman fired, another quits as abuse at nursery school surfaces See in context

Hitting kids is not necessarily abuse; in some cases, NOT hitting kids is abuse. I know some readers in this forum subscribe to the never-hit-a-kid philosophy espoused by that nutcase Dr. Spock - gee, just look at how THAT generation turned out. That being said, these one year olds were abused by the lipstick and the taping of the mouths. That is extremely dangerous. The most telling comment is by AzabuSamurai, who seems to think it is the ward governments' responsibility to provide day-care. If you are the parent, it is YOUR responsibility. Such thinking is what leads the nanny state and then to totalitarianism....

Posted in: Lone shooter kills 8 in central Virginia See in context

Chrisjap, you are on the wrong side of history. With the facsist tendencies of the current administration, gun sales are through the roof. More appropriate to this thread is that states in the U.S. are starting to realize that "guns save lives." Look at D.C., a total ban on guns was relaxed and voila, violent crime - including murder - went way down. Where guns have been banned, violent crime has gone up. Those are the facts.
