For 6 years it was always the Japanese prime minister that resigned. Now it's the Japanese public instead.

Good for her. She is a great artist and decent person. I was lucky to see her live in Japan. She makes many folks happy and generates huge tax revenues through her music / shows. May she carry on!

I remember reading how flocks of gormless heal draggin' young women cooed and voted for Koizumi's son who won the safest seat in the entire nation (in Yokosuka) despite being completely devoid of any political experience whatsover. It was a bit like that awful Obuchi woman. Rich daddy, ex-PM etc. If he was one of the usual fat, old, foul smelling oily oyajis, he would still have won but with a hugely reduced margin. Change the system, put up or shut up.

Posted in: Xi says Nanjing Massacre undeniable on 77th anniversary See in context
Watch Japanese right wingers squirm when you show them the article from their own newspaper glorifying the Nanking Massacre with photos in the Tokyo Nichi Nichi Shimbun from 13th December 1937 showing the "Incredible record" contest to "Cut Down" 100 people in the Nanking massacre. Mukai killed 106 and Noda 105. Propaganda? Then why did their own newspaper articles available in the Tokyo Hibiya library report it? Oops. These poor Japanese do not have more to say when they see their own newspaper not only admits to the deplorable massacre, but glorifies it and presents photographic evidence to boot. Even more amazing is that more non-Japanese know of these reports than Japanese. Japan is unique in the world in that foreign people have to teach and educate Japanese about this, their own history. No other country in the world knows less about their own history than foreigners.

It sure is embarrassing when folks actually think NK did it. NK paid for it but they certainly did not do it. NK are about as competent as Sony's security people. Once again, totally inept security from Sony. If people still entrust their personal details with Phony inc. after this fourth major leak in two years, they deserve to fall victim: take a stand or incompetent corporations will continue to blight our lives.

The verdict was correct and widely anticipated. Being the U.S., the criminal behavior which followed it, highly predictable. The playing of the race card too. A criminal is a criminal, whatever the color. Whether it was Brown, himself a criminal, or the many looters who used this as another excuse to steal. Yet another reason not to go back to the U.S. to live.

I sincerely hope the officials responsible are punished. How stupid and selfish these officials are never ceases to amaze me. Hanyu should never have been allowed to skate again. Wait for the typical vile, insincere and meaningless apologies tomorrow.

This woman is worse than a parasite. She is a talentless one who only gave up Hello Kitty to become a lawmaker because daddy died in office. I wish she would be punished to such an extent that she is forced into a proper apology and concedes that this is a not a "private matter". How dare she suggest this. The cheek of this dumb person beggars belief. Cut her out.

Apparently, there is hardly any oil left for the Brits. As reported in the British Guardian, According to the Office for Budget Responsibility (OBR) has predicted recoverable reserves of 10bn boe and North Sea tax revenues of £61.6bn between now and 2040. The Office for National Statistics put the worth of untapped reserves to the UK Treasury at closer to £120bn while Sir Ian Wood, a leading offshore oil industrialist in Aberdeen, put the figure at 15bn-16.5bn barrels. So the oil is not going to bring much money, assuming they can get the revenues. So I wonder how these Scots think they can survive economically outside the union? And how, in the face of an inevitable rise in taxation in the future, will they be able to create new jobs when the banks and others move south? Time for a re-think... Oh but hey, many 16 and 17 year olds are going to vote so that's AOK. Over 30,000 volunteers are going to be mobilized to persuade these youngsters to vote "Yes" to independence. What 16 or 17 year old has any clue about the financial implications involved in their futures? I am starting to think it would be a good idea if these people did leave the U.K.
