Posted in: Japan wins WTO dispute against S Korea's import ban on Fukushima-related food See in context

Wallace FredToday  10:28 am JST

WTO rules aside, no country has a right to force it's product on another sovereign country especially if that product might be tainted.

But its not tainted. Its already been proven safe. Many country enforced the ban as a precautionary measure and the ban is slow being lifted. But Korea is not lifted the ban at all because they are using this as a way to protect their own agri business when CLEARLY there is no contamination.

As per Olympic rules, the Winnie the Pooh should not have been allowed in the arena because it is a political statement.

Ask the Chinese government. Or google "winnie the pooh, Xi Jinping"

A children's playground/welfare facility situated on a prime real estate, is that really necessary? A place like Kodomonoshiro would be better off in a more family oriented modest neighborhood instead of a very upscale business/fashion district like aoyama?

I think only a private developer could find the most appropriate way to develop the prime real estate (unlock its potential value).

Posted in: Subpar AKB48 performance in Thailand earns scathing remarks from netizens See in context

National Embarrassment is what this is. Please stop. Every time they show up at another country, they are embarrassing their own people and any expats living in this beautiful country.

This teenage idol culture is just a loophole in the Japanese society that allows a escape for pedophiles and perverts. A place where they can be open about their pedophilia without getting backlash.

From reading this article, it seems many Thai "netizens" still does not understand that AKBs are selling pedophilia and underage sexual fantasy. They still think it is a legitimate artists singing and dancing. If they knew, they would not be commenting on ridiculous they are at singing and dancing.

Love what Kono is doing. There may be issues between China and Japan but that doesnt mean a little smile and friendliness is gonna destroy Japan's position on the issues.

Too many old haters in this country. Need to lighten up.

Speaks a lot about the security at the Japanese consulate in Busan.

I wonder if this lack of security is the fault of the Japanese government or the Korean government

This is why China will never gain respect from the international community. Keeps your politics out of business.

Btw, Taiwan is NOT part of China. Want proof? Call the Chinese Embassy and ask for visa to go Taiwan, they'll tell you they cant issue one. HAHA

Posted in: 'Little idols': Japan's dark obsession with young girls See in context

This whole idol thing in Japan needs to stop, especially if it involves young girls. It makes the pedophilia culture seem acceptable in this society.

Grace MellodyToday  04:00 am JST

I am an 18 year old English idol. There is absolutely NOTHING sexual about idol culture for the majority of fans.

NO i think you got it wrong. MAJORITY of the idol fans are perverts and sick people that see the idols as sex objects. There are probably a FEW fans appreciate the music and dance and whatever it is they like to do on stage.

The idea of supporting an idol is watching a performer grow and improve their talents.

If what you say is true and it is about their talent..etc, in theory there should be 40 year old male idols dancing and singing on stage while middle age male fan cheer. Why do IDOLS have to be a female, young, and innocent looking?

Would you be okay if your 6 year old daughters school teacher was a idol fan? If he spends his private time "idolizing" 10 year old girls on stage?

"The Japanese government should immediately stop making pointless claims over Dokdo, which by history, geography and international law is clearly part of our territory," Foreign Ministry spokesman Noh Kyu-duk said in a prepared statement.

South Korea opened a museum in central Seoul in 2012 to back its claim to Dokdo.

LOL

Posted in: Okinawa governor says U.S. forces crazy, out of control See in context

Okinawa people never really felt like they were truly Japanese nor were they ever treated like one.

Okinawa had the highest casualties in WWII, a war Okinawa was involved only because Okinawa was annex by Japanese. Now, they are forced upon them the burden of hosting US military. US/Japan always talk about how strategically important Okinawa is because of its location (close to China) but Okinawa has historically been friendly with Chinese.

I agree with some of you saying the beef Okinawa people have is not against US military itself, but is against the Tokyo.

I continue to just shake my head in disbelief at those who question her story... it is practically not the point. The point is that it continues to happen daily and it needs to stop.

Then just tell the story straight without inflating the numbers. Makes us wonder how much of it is real to begin with. When we start questioning her numbers, we naturally start to doubt her and other parts of the story.

Posted in: The rival Koreas have agreed to form a unified Olympic team and have their athletes parade together for the first time in 11 years during the opening ceremony of next month's Winter Olympics? Do you think this will result in lowering tensions over the North's nuclear weapons program? See in context

What does NK want? A unified peninsular with the US gone.

No. what NK wants NOT a unified Korea. Unified Korea would mean the Kim dynasty thrown out of power and possibly years of human rights abuse and genocide revealed. There zero benefit for the Kim regime if unification is to occur.

I think what they want is to pretend to be working towards a unification and peace so that no country can justify attacking NK.

Nearly daily would mean more than every other day, so lets say, conservatively, she was actually groped every other day, it means:

182times a year X 7 years = 1274.........

I know its wrong to blame the victim but for her own sake, was it not possible for her to leave the house 5 minutes early to avoid that groper? or was every incoming train from car 1 to 6 all infested with pervs?

The fingers of this unfamiliar hand went inside the collar of my blouse. Then he touched my back, he touched my legs, my waist, even my butt.

How could no one one a packed train not notice this?????? sounds like a scene from a porno movie. certainly helps with when trying to sell books....

She is just trying to catch the #metoo wagon and earn some buck.

I do not doubt she had been harassed a few times over the years, but almost daily?
