Posted in: S Korea's travel industry smarting from sharp drop-off of Japanese visitors See in context

/facepalm I cannot believe the blatant lies.

Or worse, have a northern neighbor that can blow up your country to kingdom come in a blink of an eye.

No just no. North Korea has missiles that can reach all of Japan and South Korea. It's already been established that North Korea is bluffing with its nukes on the South due to the nuclear fallout. The problem is the 10s of thousands of artillery at Japan and South Korea. Despite this the issue is more of a poor man with a flamethrower on a rich man's mansion. South Korea's military is much stronger than Japan's in terms of training and the raw specs. I think Japan needs to beef up its military. It's military is just above Taiwan's.

Now to the other posts. I can't believe the blatant nationalism. If you've been to SK that many times, then why did you travel their for such a high number and bash it. Give me a break, japanese people.

"Bu bu bu but, I never liked it. Nothing close to Japan!" Ye I'm sure. Nationalism is such a disease.

A shame. A united East Asia would make everyone tremble. Rationality is not common sense in Asian politics. I wouldn't expect the Japanese to admit its crimes in the same way I wouldn't expect fat Kim Jongy to let go of its nuclear ambitions and the Chinese pirates to stick to fishing in their own oceans.

Another article? Japan's obsession with Korea is just funny.

Anyway back to commenting.

@SamuraiBlue

You conveniently omit the billions of dollars of gold pillaged from the Korean peninsula. The 100s of thousands of cultural artifacts pillaged as well as the japanese forcing their language upon the koreans. Let's also bring up the shameless graverobbing done by the Japanese in Korea AND China. Better agricultural techniques? The japanese learned better agricultural techniques from the koreans. Are you going to say you guys taught pottery to the Koreans as well?

Is this what they teach in Japan? Here in Canada we also have a brief section about it on Asia. Nowhere does it say anything positive about Japan's invasion of Korea and more generally Asia.

Posted in: Chinese ask: Why doesn’t Japan hate America for dropping the A-bombs? See in context

Simple reason that ends all arguments. Why doesn't Japan hate America?

America and Asia made Japan. 100s of billions of gold to fund its so called "recovery". America gave generous access to its market and gave Japan the latest tech at the time. (If you don't like it. Blame the US. This is what they are teaching their kids and what the rest of the world think).

Japan was the aggressor and lost the war. American or in general western tech was the only reason why they were able to commit murder and rape in Asia. If not for the West. In conventional Asian warfare (spears, swords, bows), Japan would have been annihilated before they even reached the Asian mainland.

I was watching this on CNN. There is very little evidence on what really happened. I have no side on the issue but I already knew Zimmerman would walk.

Lawyers were reaching for straws with very situational arguments.

On top of this, the news is trying to connect this issue with the King case that resulted in irrational riots in Los Angeles.

@Genjuro

Is that what Japanese schools teach nowadays? Looks like they taught nothing of Japan's student role to its teachers China and Korea for most of its history.

I just figured out why WW2 is such a sensitive issue to East Asia. It's cuz it's the only time Japan had any power. As Japan holds over 250k artifacts from the Korean peninsula, Japan has no right to lecture anyone on culture let alone civility.

I am feed-up with all those "free only" appstore generation people whining for everything

News flash. We had to pay for stuff that was considered a ridiculous joke. Never did people think it would become reality. Example is dlc character.

Many games butchered their quality. The tales games started locking alot of their mini game costumes which were available to be unlocked in past generations. Half baked games have game breaking glitches which are casually just fixed with a patch. The laziness of game developers is prominent this generation.

Some developers were charging for a difficulty mode. What hard work. THey are getting paid more for their games. Some places have a 70 dollar retail price and others are 60. Game devs are telling me that they need more? Give me a break.

It is an offensive flag in Asia. Sorry to break it to Japan. It was more than 70 years ago? Reality flash. There are some people that are still living from that terrible point in time.

It hasn't even been a century and suddenly Japan thinks they are above anyone else. Pathetic mindset.

Console wars are only for little children who can't buy what they want or for chest thumping nationalists.

However, in this case, you have to be an idiot to not notice how garbage Microsoft's vision of gaming is. Sony already won the battle even before the battle began (consoles begin sale on market).

The "Always Online" bs is gonna be a dealbreaker for alot of people. I can live without my Halo, Gears of War and Forza. Sony has a copy version of it which is just fine by me. (Resistance, Socom (hmm... not really) and Gran Turismo).

The only company that will make me buy a console for a game is probably going to be Nintendo.

What does that say about the surgery tourists coming from Japan to Korea. The Chinese according to a few articles have outnumbered the Japanese recently. I was using the international numbers. Per capita stats mean nothing. Especially with Korea and definitely with the Chinese.

Please Japan. Don't be like Canada and try to reason with words. Sometimes a nice whack gets the job done. East Asia's sense of discipline is why they are succeeding and why Canada isn't.

Young people talking back to their elders is non existent in korean and japanese culture. A sense of discipline and hierarchy is probably one of the best aspects I just love about japanese and korean culture.

Lol. Japan lecturing on plastic surgery. Why are there so many japanese going to Korea to get work done on their face. Domestic numbers in Japan still outnumber Korea.

Why don't people do a bit of research. It's not that hard to use Google. The only way Japan has their little kicks is by comparing per capita rates... which is a moot point with all the tourist.

Yes I know Japan is not the only one. There are also lots of chinese as well.

I don't think North Korea can fool their citizens no longer. To be frank, they already have some idea of how South Korea lives.

What NK tries to achieve is just that.... a mere dream.

Trying to enslave and feed its people misinformation while at the same time trying to promote advancements in technology? North Korea has much to learn. There's something called the internet. It's eventually going to reach the people of NK as tech advances.

A pathetic regime where it's members tell each other little fantasies of how great their nation is. South Korea is laughing along with the rest of the world.

Hashimoto didn't cancel. He got rejected. What a sad way of trying to save face by lying.

It is in Hashimoto's interest not to leave Japan. His little safe haven allows him to run his mouth off to corrupted ideals. That won't roll outside of Japan.

Sorry.

No wonder the Chinese and Koreans grin and use this as fuel. Stop making it sound like comfort women are only chinese and koreans. There were many taken from other asian countries as well. JT just contributes to the problem.

It makes it sound like Japan only understands that "comfort women" were only from two countries.
