Wow this is very concerning... I am not a noisy neighbor, I follow community property rules etc... However, my immediate neighbor next door is unusual the guy has yet to acknowledge my 子日は、今晩は he is super rude for some reason. I hope he's not the crazy type to attack me or do something stupid. Wow sometimes it's hard to say with Japanese people.

You know Japan is a relatively safe place to live, but after a while you a different side of Japanese society reveals itself.

Is the ban only in Tokyo? Smoking indoors should be banned in all public spaces Restaurants, cafes, bars, clubs etc...

Seriously, who would make such a comment on a public platform “I almost hit my kid” that should be an immediate red flag for authorities to check that household.

Posted in: On or off? Who's saying what about Tokyo Olympics See in context

It's stupid to cancel the Olympics

They are going to cancel it. If not no one is going to show up. Athletes and fans alike will not show up.

1.) When you make plans for travel how far ahead do you make flight/hotel reservations?

2.) Media and news outlets come couple months in advance to prepare for broadcasting etc... so they will have to be in a Japan in May. (That’s not going to happen)

3.) No one is hating on your beloved Japan they are being realistic.

Posted in: Tokyo governor vows full measures to combat virus during Olympic torch relay See in context

It’s like they are trying to convince themselves that everything is normal. Ok! Yes Tokyo Olympics will continue as planned.

Ohh I forgot to mention the entire world is dealing with what now the WHO labels as a Pandemic. Major sporting events have been canceled globally NBA, F1 etc.... Entire cities have been in lock down to stop the spread of virus. Air travel has been suspended ohh ya the Olympics will go exactly as planned!

Posted in: Abe tells Trump Japan preparing for Tokyo Olympics as planned See in context

It is difficult to say whether the Olympic games will be successful or not. However, it is very likely that fewer people will be traveling and the expected number of visitors to Japan will be far less. Unless there is global progress towards fighting Corona Virus and a decrease in the rate of infection people are not going to travel.

1.) Most flights to Japan have a layover in China. I cant imagine everyone flying directly to Japan the logistics does not seem realistic.

2.) Japan alone cannot insure successful Olympic Games, it takes coordination with participating Countries there are 100's off variables at play. Unfortunately most governments can care less about Tokyo Olympics right now.

Posted in: Man arrested for smuggling 240 kgs of drugs from Canada See in context

For those of you who’s answer to drugs is legalize it...

you cannot legalize drugs that may kill you even with a single dose. How will these drugs be administered is there any quality control who will determine and regulate the dosage, prescription and distribution of these drugs what about liability production licensing

Do you understand the effort needed to legalize a single drug it has taken so long for marijuana to become legal and There is still no consistency with state and federal law....

nevertheless a drug like cocaine which causes severe long term health problems cannot become legal...

“just think before you speak”

Posted in: China sentences former Japanese politician to life for drug smuggling See in context

The old man was in on the deal 100% Of course he is going to deny any involvement.

Assuming this was political, would imply that Chinese Customs knowingly allows smugglers to pass. That’s ridiculous he got caught and he happens to be Japanese that’s it.

His sentence is fair according to the Law in China. That’s the risk of doing business in China.

I only hope Ghosn pursues his innocence till the end. It would be such a waste for him to settle at this stage. It seems as if Japanese Executives and Prosecutors have underestimated Ghosn. And hopefully justice will prevail and Japan’s true character will be unveiled.

Posted in: Nissan to freeze payments of unstated remuneration to Ghosn See in context

M3M3M3 - with your logic anyone at Nissan could have done something unethical and the Carlos and Kelly would have been held accountable. Not really the whole point of a public corporation is transparency allowing others externally and internally within according position to audit review and question.
