Nah! It's their fault they should restart the nuclear plants. Besides, I'm the one paying for the bill, am I not?

I remember you told us you wear a mask with your customers. Have you stopped doing that now?

Mask are optional at my business. There is a sign at the entrance that explains the policy, I started doing it after a local dentist office started doing the same. I no longer visit clients' premises, I have one of the girls doing that so I don't have to wear one. I only wear them as chin guards on planes and the Shinkansen. I stopped doing it in shops and local trains.

Posted in: Tokyo raises alert level amid resurgence in COVID-19 cases See in context

Meh! I don't care. I don't understand the irrational fear, the virus is not new anymore. It's becoming as common as a regular cold and we've got medicine available. I think most people in the world are gone forever, the mass psychosis is incurable at this point and, of course, governments are loving this.

Wear your damn mask when it is needed, this virus is not done yet!

No, I'm fine, thanks.

Posted in: For readers who are married to Japanese persons, how much does your spouse know about Japan's actions before and during World War II? See in context

She knows quite a lot, but she also knows that history is written by the victors. She thinks that Japan did bad things but so did the Allies, and that in wartime anything goes.

An Osaka court on Monday ruled that Japan's ban on same-sex marriage was not "unconstitutional"

Glad to see there's a G7 country with common sense regarding this topic.

Posted in: Rather than following government advice, people wear masks because they see others with them on. More likely to be effective in changing behavior is encouragement to unmask from employers and other organizations closer to people's lives. Then, the domino effect that saw people quickly don masks in large numbers could suddenly go into reverse. See in context

I few business in my area have signs that say that masks are optional, at my business masks have always been optional even during SoE's (I remember stopping a job interview right when a Cali girl asked me to mask up for the interview back in February, lol) , even in on a recent trip to Nagoya I saw a couple of restaurants with the same policy, definitely an improvement but a long way to go before ending the circus.

Who wants to take a North Korea style tour, when you can visit beautiful Europe at your own pace without wearing a face nappy right now? If I wasn't living here, Japan would be the last country on my 'to visit' list.

Stop the money printing machine, pay decent wages, stop funding foreign wars, stop aid to developing countries and put the lazy people who abuse welfare (centrelink, EBT, ハローワーク) to work.

Posted in: Kishida planning to attend NATO summit in late June; 1st time for Japanese PM See in context

What a waste of taxpayer money, Japan is not a part of NATO, it doesn't have an army, it's under both Russian (Northern Territories) and American occupation, it does not have any valuable resources and on top of that he can't even communicate well as he doesn't even speak English. What is he going for?

Posted in: Japan-born American files suit against Japan's dual nationality ban See in context

She got her application rejected because she told the J-gov about becoming American, if she had kept quiet she would've been fine.

The Japanese passport application form has a question about having another nationality. If you always check "no" on that one and if you ALWAYS enter and exit the country on a Japanese passport they won't check on you. I know plenty of naturalised JP who still retain their original citizenship and a couple of JPs with other passports.
