Society has decided that 15 year old's lack the mental capacity to be able to provide consent, which is why there are strong laws against sleeping with minors. Do you feel this is incorrect, and that it should be ok to sleep with minors?

I don't know about you but I still remember when I was 15 and I was well aware about the differences between good and bad. I think what he did was wrong but since the girl willingly met him at a hotel she knew what she was getting into. I believe it is not okay to sleep with minors but in the case of older teenagers it's always better to analyse the situation from all perspectives.

I'm actually more concerned about government overreach in this particular case.

She knew what she was doing, got the money and didn't even report the crime herself, he got caught by big brother. Victimless crime IMO

Awesome for the kids! They should start to prepare people who are still afraid for the maskless wave in May. I'm glad the government is doing its part. I encourage everyone who's got a a business to not only encourage people to go maskless into their premises but to ban masked people altogether.

A 15-year old getting cash at a hotel knows what she is doing, while I abhor crimes against children, this is not the case, she is just taking advantage of the law beingbon her side by default. I believe the man a fool for falling for the trap, though

Kishida is keen to revise rules on wearing protective face masks

What rules? I haven't worn one for almost a year with zero repercussions. Even on flights I just wear a sponge one on the chin while having an eternal coffee and nobody cares. Nothing will make me wear those things again.

COVID is nothing like the influenza. I don't know where the propaganda comes from, but ask anyone who had it for real

Yeah nothing at all like the flu, I got the Delta strain unvaccinated and all. I was playing games, going for drives and drinking warm sake, tequila and light beer most of the time. The flu on the other hand back in 2014 knocked me down for like a week and still felt felt week and with malaise for like another two after recovery. Definitely not the same,

Posted in: Gov't to discuss downgrading COVID-19 classification to same as influenza See in context

We’re not talking about people with mild cases. Downgrading it will not decrease people with severe Covid that need to be hospitalized.

Most people being refused are people with other ailments and happen to be infected with the virus rather than people sick with corona only. And yet again, if the rona gets downgraded even the 'severe covid cases' will have no problem being admitted. I was told by this guy that he knows of clinics, that lie about capabilities, available resources and so on just so they don't have to deal with the hassle of a Covid positive patient. Not everything that's officially reported is actually true.

Posted in: Gov't to discuss downgrading COVID-19 classification to same as influenza See in context

Ambulance workers struggle to find hospitals to admit patients for 4th consecutive week

As much as I want to be done with it, it’s still not the same as influenza.

And that's precisely why they should downgrade it! Hospitals and clinics don't turn COVID patients due to fear of the virus. They turn them away because it's a major hassle to deal with the paperwork and other government mandated restrictions. I'm friends with the doctor-owner of a rather large clinic and he couldn't care less about corona, he told me his clinic turn patients away because what I just mentioned. If it gets downgraded you can just go like if it was influenza and that's it, no need for the unnecessary circus.

Same as influenza? It should be downgraded below the sniffles.

Good move by the JP government but anyways China (PRC) is not a real country, it is a rogue state controlled by gangsters, people coming on PRC passports should be banned regardless the corona thing. Everyone knows the real China is the Republic of China whose government is on exile in Taiwan.

My small but lavish and most important, 100% maskless, bonenkais never went away, even during peak corona hysteria. Perhaps companies didn't feel like treating their hardworking employees with gifts and cash and used cOrONa as an excuse, one can only guess. Glad they're making a comeback.

I will talk from personal experience as I posses the Nissan version. The car is quick, fun to drive (it certainly doesn't feel like your regular crappy kei) and saves you heaps on petrol (money which I use to buy craft beer), plus I get to give my overpowered German beasts a break. I use it mainly to go from home to my business and to run errands around town. I wouldn't recommend it as an only car though, if you live in a mansion or your commute is more than 100km a day. If you have a petrol car, a house and need something to move around cheaply it isn't that bad.
