Posted in: UK announces first major post-Brexit trade deal -- with Japan See in context

Fantastic news. The UK is a free nation and will agree mutually beneficial free trade deals with the rest of the world. Remember, the EU accounts for only 25% of world trade. Who would want to fight for a small slice of 25% when there is a larger slice of 75% to aim for.

How the hell do the parents of a 10 year old allow their child to meet with such a man?

Obviously this will need to be paid for in the long term. therefore, expect consumption tax to hit 12% and you won't get your pension until your 70. Abe san will clearly state that it is as a result of Covid but we all know that this was the plan anyway. Japan isn't producing enough new people and She needs to squeeze more out of her citizens!

If Hirohito and his Generals had been quicker to surrender after Hiroshima then 200,000 Japanese in Nagasaki would still be alive. Moreover, if they hadn't sanctioned the bombing of Pearl Harbor or the rape and plundering of south east Asia then they would still be alive! When nations think that they are Gods chosen children then their superiority complex becomes their downfall.

Japan should work in collaboration with Elon Musk and Panasonic. Improved solar panels and multi functional long life solar/wind/tidal rechargeable batteries are the way forward.

Why doesn't this article mention trade statistic between the two countries? In 2018 China had a net trade balance of $418 billion with the USA. For 2019 Trump got it down to $345 billion. For 2020 it is estimated to be $250 - 280 billion. The tide is turning and China will soon be going to the USA with its begging bowl if it doesn't change course and start playing ball. Money talks!

Posted in: Japan to lift virus ban on re-entry of some foreign residents from Aug 5 See in context

Tokyo-Engr Thank you for highlighting this. I think I may have misinterpreted the Sep 1st announcement. If it is only applicable to those already outside Japan and not visa holders within then people are still being discriminated against! Oh Japan, when will you evolve to see everyone as equal?

Posted in: Japan to lift virus ban on re-entry of some foreign residents from Aug 5 See in context

Very strange timing. Most foreigners needed this for the start of August, not September, when a higher percentage go on holiday to their home country. The Abe administration has been both discriminatory and slow to address the needs of visa holders!

Trump is doing a great job and the US generals realize that China needs to be confronted. This move together with reducing the trade imbalance between the US and China from -$420 billion in 2018 to close to an estimated -$250 billion in 2020 should help to persuade the Chinese that their course of actions will not be tolerated.

China needs to be confronted and only the USA can do this. However, other countries need to play their part and start to decrease their trade with China and reduce her influence. China has no intentions of allowing true democracy to flourish and the communist dictatirship is showing its true colors. Hit them where it hurts, in their pocket! Allowing China to grow and expnad will only delay the confrontation until there is a risk that the west loses.

So let me get this straight. 982 Japanese deaths from Covid. Predominantly older people or those with health issues already. Thats 982/126, 000, 000 people. That's 0.00000779365% of the population who have died from Covid and 99.99999220635% of the population who haven't died from Covid.

Sleep on that tonight and remember it when you see the economic figures for the first two quarters of 2020!

The US be it Trump or a Democrat need to confront China and impose economic sanctions and new trade agreements. The consequences without this will be a new world order of Chinese global influence and democratic erosions! The world needs to face up to the realities of China's subversive tactics. It's time to import less from China and more from Vietnam, Thailand, Laos, Burma, India etc.

Give the Japanese credit where credit is due. As a nation they have overwhelmingly taken the necessary precautions. Virtually everyone is wearing a facemask, washing their hands regularly and respecting social distancing. If the USA and Trump had implemented this then there would have been less deaths. Trump's trade policies and pressure on China should be commended but his lack of leadership on Corona is worrying!

The WHO has become a corrupt organization with leading members taking financial gifts from China in exchange for propaganda media stories to distance China from the virus. The WHO's integrity is has been reduced. Even Trump could see this and therefore took the necessary action to withdraw future funding. If the world wants a constructive WHO then USA, Japan, EU, Australia and other allies are going to have to confront both the WHO and China!
