Welcome them? I thought they were locked in their rooms the whole time.

Posted in: Most major cities in Japan revise vaccine plans amid supply crunch See in context

Didn't I read an article that says the government is blaming misinformation (conspiracies) for derailing it's plan to get the population vaccinated? I guess that was yesterday's news. Something different for today.

Sorry, but this news is just plain stupid. It's like gaslighting.

I've been reading that the government wants to slow down vaccine bookings due to supply issues, yet we are reading about misinformation imperiling the government's efforts.

Gaslighting.

I'm becoming rather numb to any news about the Olympics. Once it is over will the government regain a semblance of sanity?

Oh, nice. Congratulations! Just keep going with the state of emergency and all is well. It's only been a 17 months.

Posted in: How will the state of emergency affect Tokyo Olympics? See in context

Abe abandoned his post to preserve his legacy. Mr. Suga is to be commended, he accepted a no-win term as prime minister to try and battle though this mess. Whatever you think about the Chinese Corona Viruses, I don't believe there is any good answer for the short term.

Just curious, what guests do they expect due to the Olympics? Are people still planning to travel to Japan for the Olympics?

Posted in: Bill Cosby freed from prison after sex conviction overturned See in context

With such an obvious and massive hole in the case against him, how did he actually get convicted and then spend 3 years in prison? The system seems set up to ruin people's lives and then maybe sort it out some years down the road. Whether or not he did it and deserved to be in prison, the system failed. Without his money and resources, I also seriously doubt the prosecutor mishandling of the case would have ever been held to account. Justice system in the US is terrible.

"Quickening"? Really? We haven't even received our vouchers from the city yet. Why taking so bloody long?

Posted in: Hashimoto defends decision to allow spectators amid public frustration See in context

Stop saying "fully vaccinated" like it means something. It does not. People who are "fully vaccinated" are still getting the virus and still find themselves quarantined. The vaccines have not been thoroughly tested and are making people sick such as heart problems and blood clots. Yet, they are going ahead and injecting this rather dangerous vaccine into young people without any true merit for doing so. And those doctors and researchers that speak up about it are being shut down.

My guess is that the restaurant industry didn't pay enough in kickbacks/bribes to the politicians. Asahi must have ponied up some dough. Whatever reason for the very damaging and hugely nonsensical rules?

Posted in: More companies, universities begin on-site vaccinations See in context

"Full swing"? I don't think so. Almost nobody has even received notices from their city yet for vaccinations. This is slow and almost at a dead stop. Idle at best. Certainly not "full swing".
