Posted in: World short of six million nurses, WHO says See in context

Why is anyone still listening these? WHO lost the last trace of credibility. Japan should trust its own health institutions, and certainly they know about the COVID-19 situation far better than WHO.

Posted in: Experts ponder why cruise ship quarantine failed to prevent spread of virus See in context

I suspect the virus is spreading by touching contaminated surfaces and through the skin. Secondly, it could be that the virus is able to survive on a surface for a relatively long time. These two factors alone would explain the "untraceable" cases.

Japan needs foreigners to survive economically.

No, it doesn't.

Foreigners also get old and eventually become a burden for the social services.

You cannot put a fire out by dosing it with more fuel.

Easy to solve. Change the law to speedy deportation. Don't make the mistakes of the west, where detained migrants are arrested for years, giving time for endless appeals until they cannot be deported anymore and their cases disappear from the press because of the lack of public interest.

Posted in: In major shift, Trump says time for U.S. to recognize Israeli sovereignty over Golan Heights See in context

Israel occupies this territory illegally, along with setllements in the West Bank. Better to recognize the 1967 borders that were established legally and with international assent, and recognize the rights of the Palestinians to the contiguous land they were given at the time. Anything else supports recognition of the right to territory taken by force.

The force was first used by Syria, not Israel. You need some elementary history.

Posted in: In major shift, Trump says time for U.S. to recognize Israeli sovereignty over Golan Heights See in context

The Golan belongs to the Syrian people.

You mean, the same "Syrian people" that were bombing Israeli civilians in the Galilee valley from the Golan Heights just before the Six Days War in June 1967? The Syrians attacked and Israel took the Golan to prevent further attacks, the same reason why it will never be returned.

The losers don't decide, there are plenty of examples throughout history. If you don't want to lose lands, don't attack your (stronger) neighbour.

For China, all of Japan is a "rock". They demand respect without giving it. Time for a slap.

Posted in: Japanese teacher punches high school boy in face; social media on his side See in context

These days teenagers are going over the top for anything, result of decades of complacence by their parents that didn't know themselves the discipline and hardships of less fortunate times. The teacher didn't slap the student for no reason. Even if is not the best, this will serve as a reminder to the student that his rights finish where someone else's rights start, and that is one of the best things to happen to a rebel teenager that started to get off the tracks. It even may have helped prevent him from starting a life of crime with worse consequences.

Death penalty is ok if reserved for the worst criminals and only after it's completely sure the inmate is the real criminal.

You cannot carrying out fishing or hunting to extinction because you will be left with nothing, in addition to the ecological damage.

Activities like fishing should be controlled by an independent team of scientists to ensure this does not happen.

Exploitation causing extinction of species should be criminalized and prosecuted.

This is confirmed to be a Pakistani who came to Germany as a "refugee". Two years ago Germans were receiving them with open arms. This is the response. Wishful thinking has a price. Glad Trump won and will do what is needed.

The interpretation Duterte gives to the rule of law means Philippines could save tons of money by firing the judges and disbanding the courts. These are not necessary.

The question to ask is why the mom never applied in 20 years to regularize her status? In most cases Illegals cost money to local legal residents in one way or another. That's no fair either, but forgotten all too often.

Secretary of State Romney?! Is that the best Trump and the GOP can come up with?

I don't know Romney, but one thing is 100% sure: chances are he at least would tell the truth, unlike Hillary:

Ok, all the the democrat supporters who don't think the story is true, here's another "method" Clinton campaign uses to "go ahead". She already got tens of thousands of votes before the election even began!

The election lacks transparency at best.
