The US rebuilt Japan's infrastructure after the war, so that economy has thrived since. What other compensation would there be?

As part of the 1965 agreement, Japan gave South Korea $300 million in economic aid, $200 million in loans, and $300 million in loans for private trust. Incidentally, part of the money was meant for the war victims, but Park Chung Hee instead used it to fund the chaebols, benefitting the entire Korean economy.

South Korea is so obsessed with what happened over seventy years ago, yet they do nothing about North Korea, which launched more than twenty test missiles in the last five years, two of which flew right over Japan.

In fact, a survey found that more than half of South Koreans would support North Korea in a war against Japan, while 40% said "I don't know".

Not to mention the fact that Moon threatened to pull ouf of GSOMIA, putting millions of lives at risk of nuclear war.

The double standards are obvious. South Korea needs to get its head out of the past and into reality.

Would you pray for the soul of someone who murders your mother? No I didn’t think so. So don’t be a hypocrite.

South Korea is more concerned about radioactive water that was already treated than it is about its nuclear missiles.

Back when Trump talked to Kim Jong Un for the first time, South Korea cancelled its regular drill with the U.S. along the border, yet it still did its drill on the Liancourt Rocks “in case of an invasion from Japan.”

A survey found that almost half of South Koreans would side with North Korea in a war against Japan, while 40% said "I don't know".

Another survey found that South Koreans view Abe more negatively than Kim Jong Un, a dictator who imprisons entire families, gives death sentences to his own officers, and executes people in public.

South Korea needs to stop obsessing over the past and start focusing on current threats.

There are Koreans who still deny that some Koreans volunteered to become comfort women or helped recruit other comfort women.

The book uses the women’s testimonies and historical documents, noting some were prostitutes rather than slaves, some soldiers helped those who were slaves escape and some Koreans worked as “dealers” who made the system possible.

After Park’s indictment for defamation in November 2015, 54 scholars – including MIT professor Noam Chomsky and University of Chicago professor and Korean history expert Bruce Cumings – issued statements in her defence.

But the factual accuracy of the book was irrelevant because in South Korea, a statement does not have to be false to constitute defamation – it merely has to be considered damaging.

Incidently no living Japanese citizen has ever had to bow to the Koreans and empty their wallets for them,

Korean history textbooks are brutally honest about historical facts, as to not repeat the mistakes of their ancestors which is the point of history education.

Sure, just ask Park Yu-ha, who was sued for writing that many Koreans became comfort women willingly or were recruited by other Koreans. Koreans seem to be more concerned about their victim status than historical accuracy.

Actions speak louder than words, and South Korea has shown that it can't be trusted to handle North Korea by itself when it would rather side with a dictatorship over Japan.

This, from the country that threatened to pull out of GSOMIA, putting millions of lives at risk of nuclear war.

Korean lives aren't under threat from GSOMIA termination, only Japanese lives are because Japanese are blinded from incoming ballistic missiles without early warning from Korea, which is the sole purpose of GSOMIA between Korea and Japan.

There are other countries besides Japan and Korea.
