It's a tricky case, you have to establish the link between said messages and the death. Are the messages the trigger? Or a specific message? Is it directly link to the suicide? From a pure legal standpoint it must be a headache to establish liability. It doe snot take away the fact that hate speech should be fought and banned from the internet, but the root of the problem is deep...

I strongly assume some posters switched to sarcasm mode when writing their comments. 493 out of less than 2.000 tests conducted. Doesn't sound good at all.
To be fair you can only get tested in Japan if you have strong symptoms so no wonder the ratio is high. Other countries tend to test a larger asymptomatic population.

@Do the hustle au contraire I think it has everything to do with sexual desire and that is the main issue here. Acting on it is the real crime, not the desire.

I still have boxes of CD's back home (couple of thousands), not sure what to do with them anymore. I love each of them (mostly) but the convenience of having my entire library of music in one little box plugged into my audio system switching easily from heavy Metal to Reggae or Techno is awesome. I still enjoy listening to vinyl though for this unique crackling sound but to run or walk with my "shock absorber" discman and my CD selection of the day in my back pack no way!

@Paul when was the last time you played a video game, if ever. They come in all shapes and forms and address a very large audience with different tastes and expectations. They can very much stimulate imagination, creativity and develop dexterity. You love books, great so do I, but one is not better than another just a different media.

Now I am wondering if Tokyo Disneyland will follow the trend. They're blasting a jolly "and now Ladies and Gentlemen" through their speakers every ow and then.

I think that's fair, fewer people identify as Lady or Gentleman. It takes class, education, self-respect to qualify as a Lady or a Gentlemen. Words have meaning and society is breeding egotistic, self entitled and easily offended people. That said, I have no quarrel with gender identity.

I'm glad this is happening I already have 2 left controllers completely useless (I recalibrated, cleaned using q-tips and dry alcohol, worked for a little while but the problem persisted) this happened way too quickly and considering the price for a new one this is unacceptable. I never had any issue with my PS3 or ps4 controllers... or if I did it was because of mistreatment. In this case it's just bad designed or programmed obsolescence.

Poor lad, probably a victim of a rat neighbor... Japanese society should start seeing the benefits of marijuana on the psyche rather than ignorantly shaming it. Japan could use that tax money too and will realize the huge amount of loving, caring and productive pot head there is here.

Rian Johnson actually directed the best Star Wars film since Empire.
That's an unpopular opinion! I would still put Return of the Jedi, Revenge of the Sith, Clone Wars and even Phantom Menace before any Rey's saga episodes... Even the Clone Wars series offered more character development and logic. Yeah, well, that's just like, your opinion man.
