Okay yes this article stands out because the dude was a monk. But did anyone else not realize that the girl's father was there as well when he did it? Crazy.

It's a shame when you hear one of your fellow countrymen making trouble in another country. I'm glad there was another American who attempted to stop the assault.

Posted in: Man arrested for drugging, raping over 100 women in fake clinical study See in context

How did he compensate the victims for the so called "clinical study?" Most likely with the money he made by posting it online and selling it to the producers. I think the websites it was uploaded to and the producers should be punished as well. If you think it about it, it gave more victims to conduct the "study" on. We can even take it up a notch and blame the society and government for these creating demand for these types of films.

Posted in: S Korea balks as U.S. picks Japan, Australia to service F-35s in Asia See in context

I know this sounds dumb, but this kinda reminds me of Naruto. Korea and Japan are like the different villages in Naruto, but they only fully unite after the Madara (I guess China?) becomes a big enough threat to wipe them both out. If only the two nations could look past their differences and think of the present/future.

Before reading the article, I thought this guy had to be crazy.

But then after reading the article, I thought this guy was far from crazy. He's just trying to figure out life and he's willing to do whatever it takes to find out that answer. I would even go a step further and call him "successful." He was bullied when he was younger and got through it. He said he was going to join the SDF and he did join the SDF. He started a company and started making a profit within 3 years. He seems pretty legit to me.

Posted in: Will Apple Pay be the next iRevolution? See in context

I'm kind of surprised American and Japan are behind in having this system in place.

China, of all countries, already has Alipay where people actually use it to send money (of course probably the younger generation).

Now Apple is doing Apple Pay and Line is doing Line Pay to catch up. I'm really looking forward to this system as it'll help both consumers and business make transactions easier.

Too bad about 90% of the people lining up to buy iPhones were Chinese people who purchased multiple phones to resell back in China for 4 times the price.

Wow, this is an all-time low. The owner didn't even know it happened until someone told him. Imagine how he must feel after finding out. I'd be afraid to go out again if I was him after such an incident happen. So brave and loyal of the dog for not making a noise after being stabbed 3 times. Best wishes to the person to be able to go out again. Person who did it is inhumane.

Japan doesn't really have many Asian friends. It'd be a shame for Japan to have one less friend over something so small. Please put more though into your friends instead of yourself.

This happens in the US too.... that's why my high school did. Seniors graduated even though they didn't deserve to graduate, specifically the football players.

I'm thinking Sony. Yup, let's cut costs by removing this department and letting go this amount of people. Great! I just saved a bunch of money for my company. Time to get promoted! Now, I just got to keep cutting costs until my company only consists of me and then I can just promote myself! Best company ever.

Must be pretty frustrating. They supposedly have the person in mind, but they can't do anything because he won't talk? Even after going through all the trouble with Canada and getting useful information from a death row inmate, they still can't do anything? Well, I hope they make progress and put an end to this decades long case.

Posted in: More Japanese firms withdraw Husi-supplied products; 5 detained in China See in context

If you think about it, it's pretty scary. This only happened because a reporter found out. A reporter. Not no inspection team. So who knows how many other places are selling expired meat and/or the such. You would think that the big companies would be more strict on their inspections too. Also, you can't really blame China completely. It's a given that if you're going to do business with China, quality can sometimes be sacrificed due to the cheap price. It's the buyer's duty to inspect the products, especially if it's food.

I like it!

I actually saw some yukatas for sale today at the mall. I don't have one personally, but I'd like how purchase one for the upcoming fireworks. However, the designs are only those traditional looking ones with flowers and stuff. It'd be nice if they have some more modern design looking ones such as Harajuku and Shibuya styles, for example, the designs on Tokidoki bags.

Posted in: To say kawaii or not to say kawaii? Almost half of Japanese guys don’t want to be 'cute' See in context

Wow, no wonder this country is having such a big problem with the birthrate. Guys are seriously letting this small thing bother them? "It's not the look I'm going for?" seriously! The same guy can be both cute and cool. It doesn't depend on how you look or what you're wearing (although it'll affect slightly), but more so on how you act or what you do. You could be called kakkoi when a girl sees your for the first time, then after talking with you and you do something cute, you could be called kawaii. What I mean is, even a cool ikemen like someone from Exile who's masculine can be cute such as being jealous of something but trying to play it off like he's not jealous at all although it's super obvious.

I don't know about other guys, but I'd feel happy if a girl says I'm cute. They're complimenting you. It's a good thing. It means they're interested in you even if it's a tiny bit. It's better than them not talking about you at all and only about themselves.
