When the Indian Ocean tsunami hit Indonesia, Thailand and Sri Lanka in 2004, there were so many donations that our NGOs were having tough time sorting the items, to look for something that can actually be used. I do agree, some people just dumped their old clothes, some of it are torn or too old, without batting their eyelids. My friend and I contacted one of the NGO operating in Aceh and asked them what to give, before we head to the nearest hypermarket to buy those items. Not many people would have the common sense, and some just give anything they feels that should help, even though it may not. I remembered last time, there was an article about some of the clothes donated just can't be used because of climate inappropriate

yeah, I read JapanToday on my BlackBerry Z10, while occasionally switching to another apps lie BBM, WhatsApp, FB and Twitter. emails comes in while I'm driving and sending em out is no hassle. I heard this ads over the radio last night about this girl who had a crush on one guy but just couldn't tell if he is interested. A friend told her to download BBM for android and would instantly tells her if the guy already read he message. Because BBM would tell you if he did.

shouldn't they just put it up somewhere nice so it can be viewed, like, forever?

he is just doing what is expected from him, to represent his people. if the Diet think it is just too disgraceful the act, they should do something in the first place. If some constructive has been done, I don't think Yamamoto would do what he did. unless he is all for attention.

first few minutes (with camera panning and recording them) no smiles. They looked like they were caught by surprised and don't know that they won, er, an award for best smiles.

I guess, the best way to remember the persons you love is their best memories together, their happiness.

Posted in: Abe offers Malaysia high-speed rail technology See in context

They might still retain the normal train service, since I don't think they would built high speed rail to places like Perlis (which is on the north) or Kota Bahru (which is on the east coast) as it wouldn't be that cost effective. It has been ages ago since the last time I took train services from Johor Bahru to Butterworth. Might revisit the memory lane any time in the future

Posted in: Nissan to have self-driving car on market in 2020 See in context

I think human perception still plays big (huge) role in better driving your car/vehicle. Cars with sensors sometimes can be such a nuisance that drivers ignores it altogether. It might come in handy for elderly or disabled but shouldn't able bodied and young persons helped them instead and drive them to which ever destinations they want to go.

As for busy people, I think long drive is a way for them to perhaps not hooking up with technology and just drive? Stuck in the jam? no problem. I think they have plenty of means to handle work while on the go, like taking public transport.

Posted in: Abe offers Malaysia high-speed rail technology See in context

I think the normal trains services would be retained. The high-speed train would come in handy for those who need to do business in cities along the way like Johor Bahru. Flights between Kuala Lumpur and JB as well as Singapore is not that frequent, thus making commuting to and from these cities quite a hassle

unfortunately tmaire, these things happened everywhere. the quality of graduates these days are appalling, to say it in a mild way. if I own a company, I would not want to hire someone who would not think twice causing discomfort, let alone money and time as well as manpower, just because they are so itchy want to be heard by other.

and what do they mean by 'they had performed their antics for attention and were attempting to show off in front of the other park patrons'? they are university students, for heaven's sake! there are many positive ways of seeking attention and showing off, than doing stupid things like that.

I think, in some unis, if you get involved with crimes, you'll get dismissed. but I don't know about unis in Japan, tho. Do they do that? anyway, what they did are wrong and could harm others as well. there are many ways of attracting attentions. go to those talent office, or enrol in drama classes.

That is why in some cases, juvenile needs to be charge like adult, only the sentence should be lesser. I just don't understand how come a person do something like that. It is not a simple matter to take people's life, especially someone you know. So she borrowed money and refused to give it back, so what? It's not the end of the world. But it is now, after she dead and left in the mountains for almost a month.

I remembered we were made to stand by the bin right after we lit up and sat on the bench in Narita Airport. It's either stand and smoke or sit and put out the cigarette. In cold winter day, everybody quickly have their puff and hopped inside. It just doesn't help few of us who smokes kretek like cigarette which takes twice the time.

It's about the image. And usually consumers would not say oh it's that franchisee or this franchisee. They usually would say oh that brand or this brand.
