Let people here have the choice to use AstraZenaca if they want. I would have jumped at the choice earlier in the year or even now if I couldn't have got a vaccine shot.

Posted in: Gov't policy to only hospitalize critical COVID patients draws flak See in context

They only had a year and a half to make some temporary hospitals like China and the UK did last year especially as they know most private hospitals here don't want to deal with Covid patients.

What's wrong with this government, why can't they be smart for once.

The numbers show that the vaccines are working as the majority catching covid are younger people who haven't been vaccinated yet.

Seems the government now realizes the only way out of this mess is to vaccinate the masses. Shame they didn't start earlier.

They should investigate the prosecutors office and fire those that decided not pursue this case.

So it seems that it's mainly Trump fans that are refusing to get vaccinated so i guess less of them will be around to vote at the next election.

Posted in: Suga says no link between Olympics and virus surge See in context

The issue is no one takes the government seriously anymore as they continue to send mixed messages with how we should deal with Covid.

If only they had started the vaccinations earlier a lot of lives would have been saved including a friends life who just died because of late vaccinations here.

Isn't it time for a new approach and leadership ?

Isn't it too much of a coincidence that one of China's top coronavirus laboratories happens to be located in Wuhan ??

Also if they had nothing to hide why not let WHO investigate properly and unhindered.

Posted in: Tokyo's drinkers drown frustrations over virus restrictions, Olympics See in context

Just targeting bars and restaurants doesn't work, what about the trains, Disneyland, department stores, shopping malls and of course the Olympics as examples. No wonder most people ignore the government requests.

Time to change our leaders here for some smarter people with some balls.

And from Wednesday next week, visitors will need to show either proof of vaccination or a negative test, in line with recent government-imposed requirements.

That's what the Japanese government should do for bars and restaurants in Tokyo, that way they can open as normal.
