Those bags are all over Inaka areas through central Honshu and surrounds. They just dump them right in or next to rivers , in forest areas, roadsides etc. the plastic pollution will be horrendous for generations to come.
Less worried about the radiation to be honest. It’s also a major eye sore.
So sad

We don’t want our stuff made in China. We never did. Corporations forced that upon us.
There was a time we had a choice and we voted with our wallets. We bought the cheapest stuff that was made in China. The funny party is, the companies now know we will pay the same price for stuff made in China as we used to pay for domestically made products, and that my friend, is the story of “Made in China”.
You want domestically made stuff, you can find it but you have to pay for it.

The most amazing thing about all of this, is that Israel are seemingly allowed to do whatever they want.
The silence is deafening.
And damning.
What do you suggest they do? Let violent terrorist groups amass weaponry and troops on their border and continue to volley rockets into their civilian populations? Imagine if N Korea was launching missiles at Tokyo every day ? Are Israelis supposed to just put up with that?

In California the rice fields are laser leveled. The fields are flooded to a depth of only 20 cm. Rice is planted by aircraft. Soon after planting there will be an aerial application of pesticide and herbicide.
The level of environmental destruction from spraying massive amounts of pesticides and herbicides and flying planes around and using electricity to dry rice is probably why it’s too hot for people to farm by hand anymore. I’m not saying you’re wrong but we can’t just “smash the environment” all the time.

My country does not have such restrictions. When some events do happen like that, the city staff does clean the streets the following day. Can’t Japan do the same, as they do it for matsuris ?
I don’t get why they can’t learn to make this benefit everyone ? It could be one of the biggest events in Japan. People love cosplay, people love Japan , why not just make it happen. This place ceases to amaze me sometimes.

Posted in: AI filling customer service roles in Japan amid labor shortage See in context
Funny to me that Japan claims there is “labor shortage”. There might be but there is also a crazy amount of ridiculously low paid, redundant, mundane jobs here. Like, staffing an empty 24/7 combini. Of course no one is working there for 800¥ and hour? Of course this is a position that’s hard to fill.
I bet most of these “Ai” use cases in Japan are for things people basically never use, or shouldn’t exist in the first place.
"Humans are still needed for replacing parts, but AI assist by recommending products," a Ridgelinez official said. "Humans can focus on more advanced tasks."
Amazon has been doing product recommendation for as long as I remember, you hardly need to do “Ai” for this ?
