@thelessdeceived

There is no redefinition of vaccine. That was always like that and, potentially, will always be as they will be people with some specific which will have the illness even thought they are vaccinated as long as the virus is still active. Will science evolve in a way these people can be accurately identified and solution be found to offer them an alternative vaccine which will be efficient for them, we do not know yet. So yes, vaccine are not 100% efficient and most of people are not twisting their panty over it because they already know it.

How cute !!!

Now we have people which were pretty blunt about not carrying about anybody else than themselves, trying to play the card the poor people from poorer countries deprived from vaccine by mostly white people.

Wonder what will be the next jump.

If it is a problem, one should not forget WHO authorized 10 different vaccines, I think now only 3 of those are used for booster shot in richer and mostly white people nations, or something like that.

Considering Macron sentence, the wording is not president like. He has the right to think it but should not say it this way. Thought considering he got the reputation to use out of date word, wonder if it was actually words used by journalists to make him confirm what he was saying in a way more outdated and he confirmed it bluntly. Just wondering.

I do not get the obsession of the government for inflation out of nothing.

People have no money to spend on inflation. Sometimes, you can see references about Japanese large savings but these people same to forgot this money is already channeled (buying a house, renovating it, children study, grandchildren support, retirement, and so on). Inflation just mean more money will need to be saved for the one who can afford it and more stress for the one which can not. There was consecutive years of inflation thought low. Taxes increased too. Salary did not increase. People have to compensate inflation in their way of life so less short term spending.

Does the government not know that ?

Seems that if she was not in close contact with patients, she was working in an accommodation facility for COVID-19 with 3 patients having Omicron. So I guess one can imagine one of her coworkers was asymptomatic or there was some unexpected transmission route (toilet perhaps). They are trying to look for it. Hopefully a symptomatic patient showed soon enough for them to grasp and cut every possible transmission route and the lady will soon be back healthy.

@Iron Lad

It is perfectly fine to not like the costume. The issue is disregarding the stylist work put into it.

I like it. It speak Japan at first glance and with emphazing a lot of Japan aspects including being at some level humble/natural and at some other extravagant or something like that. Japan is multiform and I find the costume reflect it. For me the designer did a good job.

@Antiquesaving

I think you misunderstood who is ranting here. I will not lie about the fact I am frankly displeased by the total lack of respect some people show to the designer moreover now that some seems to find it so important to go for anything jews related. (This kind of statement from some people are very disappointing to say the less).

Nobody is negating it is kimono inspired. I clearly pointed out the shelves. But it is not just kimono inspired it is also harajuku inspired. Fashion in Japan is a big mix up of inspiration from around the world. They incorporated also western clothing rules. Look at official photo of official people, at people going to office job, students going to school, people going to marriage, ...

You kept going about kimono but fail to prove the torso/back part is made to fit kimono standard. The cutting, the piece shape, the shoulder and higher part of arm, the shape of the line, the fitting ... all point in the direction it is not kimono. Do you really believe a stylist will not have been able to make a more kimono like torso/back part if they wanted too. For me it look more inspired of magical girl costume which actually bring us to school uniform then western folding. But I have doubt, the stylist went that far.

After, it would be funny if we end up being told the video was show in reverse.

@Antiquesaving

The designer said it is kimono inspired and you consider it is a kimono. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

It is inspired so it is not. They have battleship inspired anime with girls fighting. They are not boat, they are girls.

Why is there so many people bringing judaïsm in ?

Considering how far the dress is from a burial kimono, I am pretty sure lot of people are currently wearing or owning Tachrichim like clothes.

You know Japanese are able to wear wrap dress the right way, pretty sure in Harajuku too. They can also wear non wraped or folding cloths with line going from right to left.

And since some people seems to have trouble reading between lines, along with all others explanations, an obvious other one is that the stylist is smart enough to know that no matter which way the line go, it will be smashed in Japan because dead, because man, because dead again, ... ; the best bet was to choose to make it so that it will goes smoothly around the most people (including Japanese and the like not looking to be offended) because it is a competition and he want the Japanese lady to win or something like that.

But yes the only explanation is freaking foreigner (moreover Jews since it seems to be a thing here now) and freaking half are stupid/unrespectful/unprofessional/incompetent/... or whatever bad word you can throw at them.

Posted in: Miss Universe 2021 Japan entry slammed for wearing 'dead person’s kimono' See in context

@Antiquesaving

It is not a kimono. It is a dress. So it follows dress rules. If she went on the stage with a male dress all comments will be about her wearing a male dress. Do you really think the hatter will like it ? And just average Japanese fashionisita when they will be seen as messing it up ?

As far as I know : there is not folding on one side or another. It is 2 clothes cut sewed together. There are buttons on the back.

And frankly the resemblance of the torso/back part with kimono is very loose. The kimono referral is in the shelves.

And some need to learn more about Japanese culture.

The ones considering this kind of dress as an option for the dead ?

Or the one interested in where the folding come from ?

https://hyakumonogatari.com/2012/04/04/what-is-the-white-kimono-japanese-ghosts-wear/

What if actually the stylist, outside of my interpretation of his piece, actually took it for a kimono and decided to incorporate Japan history in it and/or their mythology ?

I do not think it is far more fetched than a stylist wanting to make a kimono looking torso/back which did not look like one and without doing researching about it, which will bring in any other website about how you have to fold it.

Waiting to have to poor sir and lady have to apologize because nyanyanya Japan fabulous, ancestral culture, foreigner stupid, ...

It is a creation and frankly not a bad one moreover compared to some others. Should we except every other countries to start going about it : but the feathers ..., but the red ..., but ...

Talking about color ? Why is this no mention of the choice of sakura white glittering pink ?

Look to me like the stylist did his best to match as much of Japan as he could in an international beauty pageant format.

Posted in: Miss Universe 2021 Japan entry slammed for wearing 'dead person’s kimono' See in context

I do not understand the big fuss about kimono. She is wearing a dress, not a kimono, does not even look like a wrap dress as it seems there are button on the back and I do not see anything looking like a folding part ; the button also kind of look more like it was sew to the top.

Would have people preferred her to wear a man dress, because it will exactly be all the meaning the result if the folding looking part was made the other way ? I do not think the hatter will have been anymore happy.

For the tattoo, I do not think they had lot of option. The chest part is just too wide. It had to be cut one way or another. The usual would be necklace but it have to be something about Japan. So the quickest pick will have been sakura. That is even more pink. Black was the easiest bet a it is featured on the top so will allow to pursue the dynamic of the upper part. Black sakura on the neck as representation of Japan on an international stage ? I have doubt. The tattoo doesn't seems like such a bad choice thought it look like better in the official photo. It remind calligraphy and use kanji. And manage to do what it is used for : cut the full chest area.

Some people need to understand a bit more about fashion.

So most of Bojo new ideas are already in place and in the process of being improved (at least before he just decided to show the world he does not understand a thing about diplomacy nor he know what he is talking about).

I do not really see the point of having more cops moreover not speaking the same language not following the same rules not having the same training and so on. Seems far more easier to catch people already at sea and solve the issue of : is it actually illegal in France to board a boat ?

He does not seems to understand what is a readmission agreement. How that will solve the issue of non-EU people landing in the UK ? Bojo should negociate these with the countries these people are from.

Difficult to not understand why he was asked to get serious. The form and the content is ridiculous.

I think lot of people have a big misunderstanding about what vaccinated and wanting to be vaccinated people believe, their reason to do so and their perception of vaccine effect and/or they conveniently choose to ignore everybody stating otherwise of the imaginary scenarii.

A perfect example is this one :

Ask them, why they got vaccinated?

You will always get the same answer:

Because I don't want to get sick and because I want to get back to my normal life.

No, that is not. There is a wide range a reasons people choose to be vaccinated, these are some andor part of some, like the last one where the step : " by having everybody vaccinated (minus the tiny amount of people whose health do not allow it), we will make the virus manageable then" is conveniently cut.

Some people seems to conveniently forgot that among non-vaccinated, the no mask, no social distancing, no sterilizing, no whatever could prove useful in containing the virus is also existing. That is not a thing which just poped out from vaccinated. (I have no idea of the current distribution and pattern depending of the vaccinated variable)

The "me me me me then me and again me and a bit more me" crowd is getting tiring. Get your head out of yourself for a change, world is bigger than you.

Then in a recent move that rule was challenged to go back to the ancient one as it was more natural.

And on that specific topic, the article clearly state that the inclusion of "iel" was the result of it gaining currency. So it is not coming out of the blue.

Many data centric business, analytics, secure financial trading and brokerage, insist on arrival all smartphones are handed in, then paired , with secure independent communications handsets.

How does any of these job is on par with a conductor one ? Or even most job done by people ? You know most of these rules are for security.

He playing game did not mean he was not fulfilling his duty. He was not browsing or surfing anything. We are talking about a localisation game. Do you know these ?

If you have employee, you should be aware that during their workshift they are working at 100%, 100% of the time you neither. Sometimes people go to toilet, sometimes people drink, sometimes people talk to other people, sometimes people watch time, sometimes people brain just freeze for a few in order to protect itself, sometimes people daydream, sometimes people think about what they are going to eat, sometimes people think they need to go to the toilet then look at the time and calculate if that is worth going now or they better go a bit later, sometimes then they notice someone else is not at their desk so ask where they are and when told they are in the toilet decide they better to wait for the other one to come back, sometimes people go to pour a drink without noticing someone else is already doing it then end up waiting and when waiting end up discussing about their weekend, and so on ...

Everyday everybody in every workplace have times where are not in the boundary of their contract. It does not mean they are not carrying on their responsabilities, they are letting down their coworkers, they are casting doubt about the future of this line of work...

My business is successful because I value my employees contribution above my own.

That has nothing to do with the article. The conductor has been playing for around 10 years and game can be played at the speed of shinkansen.

I agree with the team 'so what'. For 10years, nobody ever noticed or feel need to say anything : meaning it was unnoticeable (like turning on phone and clicking in middle of screen which can actually be done without even taking your phone out of your pocket) or so insignificant that it could not be perceive as dangerous and potentially on part with any small distraction which actually help someone kept alertness in the long run as reducing low brain activities phases. It is even possible that his performance was better than other conductors which just end up spacing out for several minutes.

The cost of cashless greatly override the tiny less stuff to carry, simpler and quicker to use. Society should not go totally cashless. The only pro are for totalitarian regime.

It is a form of stalking. (someone else will have access to any spending information about you regardless of if you are willing to share it or not)

It force people to agree on infringement of personal rights (you will have to agree with the term if you want to use it and you will have to agree if you want to feed/house/... yourself if the whole society goes cashless).

User have to pay for it : terminal for business, card, smartphone, ... for individual.

And in the instance of losing it will have to repay for it. (If I loose my Icoca/Suica/... card I loose he money on it + the cost of the card so I will have to buy a new one and put money on it ; If I loose my smartphone I have to repay my smartphone and spend lot of time putting back everything ; for the money like with bank card it will depend of it is cracked and someone use it to pay them if company agree to repay or not which is lot of work and time). Loss of cashless tools will also mean that during the time needed to get a new one you will be moneyless, you will not be able to store a bit of money to make sure you can go through national holiday if you loose your cashless.

Anybody unable to afford the tools will end up moneyless.

We can not make random/easy donation & the like with these. Homeless will loose a way to gain money : be it by passer-by throwing a few coin, hunting coin falling near vending machine, even for The Big One it can make thing difficult by having to learn to use the tools.

As pointed before, most cashless option are not every user friendly.

Cashless rely on electricity, no electricity no money.

The ecological cost of all these electronic transaction and data storing and the electricity to make the tools works. I doubt it is inferior of the one of cash option.

No society should go completely cashless. Cashless should not be more than another option.

So if I get it right, Singapore is just revoking a special measure related to covid-19 and now it is back to being deal with as any other illness. They are not depriving anybody of their normal healthcare system.

I do not know exactly how Singapore system work, so I will use Japan.

If you get the flu, national health system will cover up to 30% of your medical cost.

They enacted special law making it so 100% of the cost are supposedly covered.

If Japan were to go Singapore way, it will mean, they will remove the special law and people will be back paying 30%.

As a token of gratitude, people which are vaccinated will still see the remaining 30% covered. And in order to not penalize people which could have show the same concern in protecting medical system and society (or other reason but same result) but can not because they are not eligible to vaccination, they will also kept the coverage.

Well at to be expected that at some point government will stop their special coverage and people insisting about living with the virus and acting as it is any other illness should be happy.
