Students and professionals I really understand but honestly, people that protest because they can’t open a shop…. Get a grip people. There are problems that are bigger than your wishes. Thai has nothing to do with xenophobia it’s pretty standard procedure during a pandemic. Look at how draconian Australia was, they even left their own citizens stranded for years abroad. I honestly couldn’t care less about those whinging selfish people protesting

The fact that there are twice as many suicides than covid deaths should show the government where the priorities in the future should be put. The government went nuts because of covid and spend billions but is not caring at all in helping to bring suicides down either by policy changes or by slow social enfeebling.

Posted in: Japan looks to expand COVID quasi-emergency to Tokyo, 10 other prefectures See in context

Closing restaurants and bars will do nothing to stop the spread of the Omicron variant. The fact remains that the virus is here to stay and will keep on mutating, if lucky it gets weaker but it will never go away so the Japanese government did a somewhat decent job in increasing bed capacity but it shluld have done much more. Boosters for teachers, transport, logistic, hospital and energy workers shoudl already be finished, Europe has booster rates of over 50% and japan still below 1%. Another emergency will cull the economy big time. Japan needs to act and not always react. They need to look to the UK and keep the world turning, we need to live with this virus, or do they want to keep this repeating itself over and over again for the next what? 1 year? 5 years? 10 years??

I keep asking myself, with 81% fully vaccinated how can we have another emergency? Yeh virus will never go away and we will have to live with it. So get boosters going (laughable 0,5%!!!!!) and let the people make money to pay for a living. I’m really angry now. What was the point to get vaccinated?!!!! Yes we keep attention, disinfect, wear masks but honestly we have to live with this!

Posted in: Okinawa reports 623 new coronavirus cases; 390 in Tokyo See in context

Like the rest of Japan, Okinawa should have made good use of the times with super low infections and start buildimng up hospital places. They didn't do it and now we have this mess. the same is seen all over Japan. Covid will never go away and waves will come periodically, Japan is very well vaccibated and did a good job there but man man how they've wasted the good times..... Japanese politicians alwasy plan with best case scenario in mind, tha Japan, Okinawa should have made good use of the times with super low infections

Posted in: Omicron variant reported in 22 of Japan's prefectures See in context

The government here is still fully moving on luck, they did not make use of the time they had to increase hospital capacity and supply of test kits, either the Japanese are really different and are not getting covid or sooner or later the big outbreak will come, covid will become like the yearly flu so keeping the country closed will not be an option or do they want to go on forever? over 80% vaccinated so what are we waiting to start travel again??

I’ve bene here for over 20 years, paid a hell of a lot of taxes and social security and never took a dime. I like Japan and the Japanese but my experience is this is no country for foreigners. You’re accepted here as long as you stay basically transparent and shut up. So be it, I stay on making money but this is the way this country is run by the elite of old angry little men and it will never ever change

Posted in: Japan launches COVID-19 vaccine certificate app See in context

Apps no apps whatever, the point should be, 80 percent are vaccinated, the government is however behaving like it is still 2020. They go apexxit whenever a new variant shows up. The virus will mutate forever and stay with us forever so we will need to return to normality right? When not of now with 80% vaccinated??!! This is all getting ridicoulus and so many people are ending up under or unemployed and it will cause very very big problems
