Why do they never learn the lessons from the Olympics??!! Are they stupid? After the financial disaster that was Tokyo they still want to bid?! They’re honestly mad

“Chasm opens between words and action” wow!? What an amazing surprise! I mean, the last 25 COPs have had such an amazing track record that one could hardly expect COP26 being a talking shop with little or no action. I’m flabbergasted, how could that have happened ;-)

I always wonder where they get the money from, in the case of Japan it’s debt to gdp ratio is already approx 260% throw in the private one as well and we are looking at 500%, it’s staggering, never in history a country was that much in debt. This is serious stuff for everyone interested in economics. I’m flabbergasted

@speed, you're spot on, this being Japan don't think they'll follow scientific advise. There is a lot of money to be made by dumpib those tetrablocks into the ocean and by paving every single beach in Japan over with concrete so it will only stop when we start sinking into the ocean. It is a fact that Japan has the highest usage of cement per head. I mean, just look at the beaches, instead of moving villages to higher ground after the Tsunami tehy buil 30m walls. I've been to visit these villages recently, you couldn't make it up, had a kaisendon at a seafood restaurant and my view was a 30m concrete wall, unbelievable....

I’m very interest in animal welfare, raise 100% free range chicken for eggs which I sell. I can tell you from my experience, animal welfare in Japan is basically a joke! Exceptions do exist but are very few. Almost all cattle here, wagyu or not live 24/7 chained in a barn. That’s the reality! I suspect this will be a marketing gag to “blind” overseas customers.

Look at the timeline of the last 25 COP meetings and yeh graph of CO2 emissions. It will tell you all that you need to know about “ net zero” pledges.

The BBC reported yesterday that Japan was one of the nations undermining in the background the COP in Glasgow. I’ve been living here for 20 years, one thing I learned, Japan talks but doesn’t walk, industrial interests in this country have absolute priority. The fact that Japan uses the most concrete per head is a teller by itself.

A good start would be to turn himself in and face justice. He’s for sure not short of money to pay for good lawyers…. Hiding in one of the. OST corrupt countries on the planet doesn’t shine a positive light on this dude. No sympathy lost here…

Slams Japans justice system….. hmmm…… what about when the US pressured Canada into detaining the top Huawei executive on super flimsy grounds? Always a good idea to start at home before going to preach abroad…..Why did JT censor this? Actually pretty scary that you censored my first post

well, what could we expect…. I would say I’m rather well off and would absolutely pay more taxes because many people need help but if the 1% rule Kishida will just have to dance like most of his predecessors did. Sad sad, nothing will ever change except we force them to!

Casinos are always almost a hotbed for corruption and crime. Especially when Chinese are involved. Good documentary on the “online” Casino boom and the crime that come with it in Cambodia on Aljazeera (East 101). Japan should just stop going ahead with this idiotic idea
