Hoping most people feel safe enough to get rid of these masks. I've truly become sick of wearing them daily.

Hope this man faces appropriate punishment for his crimes.

Also funny to read how foreigners talk about deportation.

I'm absolutely gutted by this news. I saw the images of the palestinian children who got killed because of this war. This truly breaks my heart. These monsters need to be held accountable, STOP BOMBING THE PEOPLE.

I think it's nonsensical tweeting a swimmer to cancel the olympics. How about everyone tweets Suga?

This government is simply sadistic. Why couldn't they let the population enjoy their golden week first? Or announce this way in advance?

@monty

Buddy can you stop with the whole foreigners/Japanese mask thing? You sound like a broken record. What's your point? Do you want to keep track of maskers/ no maskers? Just live your life man, your comments scream weeb to me.

Posted in: Japan reports record new coronavirus infections for 3rd straight day See in context

I will do my best to wear a mask and take as many measures as possible to decrease the risk of catching/spreading the virus. However I refuse to be locked up inside my house as if it were a cage.

If I want to buy ice cream from 7-11 or do some groceries outside I will. Sue me.

Posted in: Turkish man killed at Saitama apartment; friend arrested See in context

The biggest mosque in Tokyo is Tokyo Camii & Turkish Cultural center.

And no these people in Saitama, "warabi-stan" are not Turks. They are Kurds. Please get your facts straight.

They are mostly illegals from Turkey/Syria who work in construction and sell Kebab in Akihabara and around Shinjuku, Shin Okubo.

If you spot a "Turk" with a tattoo or earring or drinking alcohol openly on the street he or she is most likely a Kurd or Iranian.

How do I know? I'm Turkish and live in Tokyo. Our community is pretty small so we know who is who.

Posted in: Anxiety prevails over state of emergency declaration See in context

The younger generation face anxiety which is true. Among the elders I get the feeling that they're somewhat o.k. I've spoken to some elders and I've been told that in this country they have been through natural disaster after disaster, multiple economic crisises, famine and wars. This virus is dangerous but they have the experience to pull through. I wish the younger generation had more of the same mentality but they are not to be blamed. They face a lot of pressure.
