Russia as a sovereign country does what it needs to protect its territory against NATO

That was Hitler's speech when getting back Austria and part of Czechoslovakia.

lets start to live with Covid as we do the Flu.

You mean let the covid go wild and generate new dangerous variants such as the BA2 ?

Very wise !

All recent decisions lead to accepting less foreigners on the japanese soil (pandemic, trainees abuse) whereas the most direct solution would be to clean up the internal mess.

Unfortunately, early research indicates the ba.2 variant may be significantly more severe than the omicron strain.

i tried, seems they don't get the notion of variant reservoir when you live "with" the virus (ie letting it go wild)

This is completely false. If you want a test, you can get a test.

you're completely wrong.

A strong testing strategy is to make tests mandatory. Saying "get a test if you want" (and keep contaminating others if you don't want) is not wanting to know the real infection rate.

Cap or not, it does not matter. Omicron is very infectious

You measure infection rate by testing so yes, capping matters if you want to know how a variant is infectious.

Fortunately for Japan, other countries did enough testing to bring the information to light.

There is no limit or shortage or cap on tests and anyone saying otherwise is making up stories.

your story reveals there's no contact tracing ... hence, they're not looking for potential cases, hence automatic capping

Hasn't reached it's 20k peak and is steadily falling.

The test capping is preventing cases to go above 20k.

Nice to confirm we have peaked

It's called tests capping, this is how you create a peak

For those against restriction and "herd immunity" prophets, look at the situation in Sweden :

50% of the trains canceled because of sickness

20% of all truck drivers out sick

Large grocery stores forced to shut down parts of their store because of staff shortages

Mail, fire, and sanitation services cancelled for entire towns because staff shortages

Regular people asked to fill in public service jobs

60% loss of business for hotels

10% of the police staff out sick

Schools force to shutdown because too many out sick

25% students out sick, 23% teachers out sick

16 hour wait times for children emergency room

and so on ...

So, yeah, it's not so deadly so let's get all sick at the same time ?

Okinawa has already peaked. Tokyo won't be far behind. If you believe Tokyo might enter a prolonged wave that would defy this model, please give an explanation using science.

I don't understand : Okinawa's case was unique because american bases.

But now, you apply the pattern to Tokyo ?

The first country with an Omicron wave was South Africa, low vaccinations, let alone boosters. Fast peak, low deaths.

You're the first when it comes to the "great specificities" of the Japan against western ones regarding this pandemic.

But no nuance when it come to compare to South Africa ?

No ? Nothing ?

I’m going by data from this country and analysing data from countries where Omicron peaked earlier

which data do you use?

so your data must define the "soon", so please elaborate on this duration.

Because, the "soon" wasn't the same in South Africa, UK or France ...

What's the scale of "soon" for Japan ?

Please, give us a number of days to see how good you are in analyzing data.

Considering Omicron wave as just a flu wave is a terrible idea.

Wildly circulating viruses are prone to mutate more, potentially to a more deadly variant, lowering the vaccines protection as well. Sars-cov-2 has proven it can be deadly and not seasonal.

A new mutation could target different population than the current vulnerable one.

Omicron will mute, it already has, faster than before.

Zero deaths in Tokyo, those that fear monger, really should look at that. Average age of death is over 80 with various medical issues. No deaths in under 10’s since the pandemic began.

Oh i read the article of people dead at home because of covid without any governemental support & counting.

The full extent of COVID-19 deaths at home remains unclear. According to the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare, 141 deaths were recorded as "at home" from January to September this year in its "Health Center Real-time Information-sharing System on COVID-19" database, or HER-SYS.

However, according to sources involved, the actual number is believed to be higher, as workers were sometimes too busy to record that a patient had died at home.

jkctlr89Today  07:16 pm JST

bokudaToday  06:57 pm JST*

In case that somebody wonders why Japan had only 7,337 cases reported yesterday.

Tests performed on Jan 16th:

*France: 1,410,000 tests*

*Japan: 62,000 tests*

I’ll piggyback on that too!

Tests performed on Jan 18th:

UK: 1,363,401

Adding the population size, it's even more obvious we don't want to know what's going on here :

Tests performed on Jan 16th:

France: 1,410,000 tests (population 67,390,000)

UK: 1,274,369 tests (population 67,220,000)

Japan: 62,000 tests (population 125,800,000)

Typical result of a dehumanized and competitive society where there's no room for kids with no or lower academic skills.

They often think ending life(s) is the only escape while no support and other solutions are offered to them.

Governement and media will fingerpoint individual behaviors only without a deep investigation on the roots of the problem.

Interesting comment. Wireless earphones only receive, they don't transmit.

They do transmit for pairing and keep a constant "heart beat" or "ping" to tell your device it's connected.
