Posted in: 1.82 million foreigners legally working in Japan, gov’t says See in context
The more interesting question for me is rather: how many of those foreign workers stay really for longer (10+)?
My conclusion after working for more than 3 years as a manager in Japanese automotive industry is: Japan itself and the long-term outlook is far from being enough considering all those strange things, burdens and hurdles happening in daily life and will also come up in future.
Almost nobody, who has no real Japanese roots, a Japanese wife/ husband, kids or anything else close to his heart, can really stay here for longer or forever.

It would have been interesting to learn in this article how much savings Takahiro Average or households in Japan have. I cannot imagine it‘ll be so much considering the comparable low wages.

My impression is, masks became a convenient method in Japan for certain people to hide themselves due to whatever reasons. It could be that the lady did not find the time to do some make-up in the morning or the guy at work who does not want others to read his emotions or mimic.

In particular, if Japan’s leaders, like the emperor and prime minister, are not going to wear masks when traveling outside Japan, isn’t it rather hypocritical to recommend that face masks be worn inside Japan?
When those people are travelling abroad, they are not wearing masks at all. You can see it regularly in the news. They‘re only wearing masks all the time when they‘re at home to present themselves as good examples and in the expected manner to Japanese society.

I think Greece and Japan have more in common than one may think. E.g. highest debt rates

Were some other French managers on job assignment at Nissan suppressed or threatened by Japanese state attorney, or what is the reason?

Wow, the prime minister of Japan is walking around in the public without wearing a mask. He should set a good example in his home country too.

The BOJ like all other central banks can only lend money, but not spend it to real economy. If this created money is only invested in things that do not pay off or don’t increase productivity of economy (old depths , non-sense projects, social welfare others), then only the balance sheet is increased and money flows to overseas (carry-trades) and to those who have a lot of financial assets.
This is obviously happening in Japan since 30 years.

Btw. how can you run such a trial in Japan?
Its virtually impossible here to find ten persons in a row who don’t wear a mask. Or did the writer of this article forgot to mention these were only men from foreign countries? :-)
The team lined up 10 maskless men, each 175 centimeters tall, on an escalator

So many useless advices regarding this virus. What should happen on the escalator, especially in spacious environment, while almost everybody has received his 4-5th shot and is anyway wearing mask all the time?
Eventually start using your brain and live your life.

There is no financial future in Japan for 75-80% of the workforce. Take income tax, the pension, health insurance, city tax, rent and utilities out of the piddly salary and you are left with nothing
Absolutely agree. Japan is a high tax country with comparable very low wages and high living costs. That’s also the reason why properties, infrastructure etc. become very old. Despite those things are maintained very well by society, there is no room to invest money into new things.
And then you also have this productivity issue…

Why are the evacuees even in Japan..??..?? They do not belong in Japan.
Because the Japanese government invited/ brought them here to send a signal to the word how open and caring Japan is for foreigners

Come on guys. When will this Corona thing finally be declared as ended in Japan?
Where is this fear coming from? Just because of some travelers from China who may be infected? Or is it just because they are from China?
While Japan has one of the highest vaccination rates and everybody is anyway wearing a mask anytime and everywhere, why still paying so many attention to that?
