Past is past. Every day that I see this in Japanese newspaper it starts to become terribly boring news. Every country should only take care of their own past. Everyone has scars to heal and no need to point out everyone's scars just like children do.

Japan has already given many apologies and as I said before the only reason for an apology is so that Korea can get more money which they will use and not give to the comfort woman in the first place. The money has been given before and these 'comfort women' never received it. The Koreans do not know about this or else they would revolt and overturn the whole government. The Fukushima nuclear spill is a much bigger problem to solve which is immediate and this stuff from 60 years ago is just a distraction from what needs to be done now. Actually it is the war criminals who need the prayers more than anyone else. Just think about it. From a Christian perspective we do not supposed to judge and we should love even our enemies/foes. Prayer is love and out of anything to do some good it would be done by prayer. Nothing wrong can come from this. Politicians are meddling in areas that they have no idea about and then the people get pulled into this other world. But this is too much to expect from the world and it will never happen during my time.

yes they are praying for the war criminals too but the concept in Japan is that they are not war criminals any more once they die. Their past is gone and now they are beyond. It is all belief stuff and then everyone sticks their heads into this mess. Just leave all the religious stuff out of it.

Yes Mitsuo you are correct on that. People do not know what is going on with the prayers at all and they just simplify it to make it look like they are praying to war criminals. It is not only war criminals who are enshrined on this place but the whole lot of soldiers who staked their life. There is no separation between good and bad for them as they have passed into 'heaven'. Duality creates differences in thought and lends others to judge. Religion is just religion and it has its own world of beliefs. Let others believe as they like. Whether their prayers are sincere or not will never be known to us. Just leave all this religious stuff to the religious world.

China is acting like a hypocrite on this issue as China's past is also deplorable. One must go forward and not get sunk into the past. We could look back 300 years at this and that and then 500 years and 1000 years and it will never stop. All these fools in the world have no idea what they are doing. Just power politics--feed the people all this nonsense to get them worked up and then they support those politicians who then make more money.

Abe is partially in power because of all the backlash from Korea and China. They created the situation and just made it worse.
