Posted in: Teacher arrested for taking photos of girls in toilet See in context

Hi Swami Vas, Just so you know, students and especially parents do not look up to teachers..... I spent almost ten years in the Japanese education system, and the stories I could tell you would blow your mind. Why do you think parents invest so much time and money in JUKU and other learning centres? Everyday we hear about teachers doing stupid things that degrade their profession even further. But I guess, if you work six or seven days a week, we can't really be surprised! It just seems like the heads of the BOE's are not getting the message, or they're just hoping it'll go away.

China.....it's almost laughable, actually it is!! Like everything, they steal it and claim it as their own. No imagination! But I have to admit, they're good at one thing like, everything that is wrong with this world. I'd like to elaborate, but it would take me all night!! Personally, I believe the world knows what China is all about. Lol......

Jerseyboy, you don't have all the facts, so instead of just taking the media's word for everything, stop being so gullible! There's a lot more going on here than we're being told. And if you want to play the blame game, you should take in account all partie's concerned. And just a personal note! If you don't have all your facts straight, it's best you not say anything at all! Just a thought!!

Posted in: Japan considers building its own fighter jets See in context

If the Japanese build a fighter anything like they build their cars, I think they'd be better off getting rid of those over priced, over budget F-35 strike fighters. I also heard that Canada is getting tired of all the over runs and delays. Maybe it's time to kick the F-35 program to the curb, and send a wake up call to those corporations who can't seem to get it together, or are they just milking this program for cent they can get?

The facts of this case tells us, the system doesn't work! Since when do parents decide to abandon their children because their getting remarried? If the girl had a history of violence, where were the authorities? The hole thing stinks!! If I were the parent of the victim, I would consider a liable suit against the father of the accused. She was a minor and left unsupervised!! He is also responsible for this horrible act!!

Dennis,

You asked how they get the two mixed up? As I have driven with some of my Japanese friends, I noticed that they drive with both feet. One for the gas, and one for the brake. This is why I usually take my car, as I value my life. No insult intended.

It's really sad, that people turn a blind eye to this type of behavior! I used to teach English in ES and JHS in Japan, and I had my fair share of students fighting with the JTE's doing nothing!! I think it's time to educate the schools and make them accountable. Maybe they should have councilers at the schools to help deal with this growing problem. Oh. That's right. It's not in the budget!! I' m at a loss!! My prayers go out to the family.

Posted in: ANA apologizes over racial stereotyping in new TV commercial See in context

I'm at a loss! A company like ANA, which is trying to show that they're a global airline, talk about sending the wrong message!! I don't know who their marketing director is, defiantly not a well cultured individual. Maybe ANA should have some workshops or seminars on cultural awareness. As I have never flown ANA, I find flying JAL for business and pleasure to meet and exceed all my expectations, and then some. Defiantly culturally aware. ANA, I'd recommend pulling the ad before it gets uploaded to YouTube. Oops too late!
