Sorry, but those of us who are masculine foreign males in Japan are more than happy to keep looking and acting like men.

Are you kidding me? Directing terrorists to crash planes into the WTC and Pentagon is mass murder on a heinous scale. The US was responding with justice. Bin Laden deserved to pay for his crimes against humanity, and now he has. Thanks, Navy SEAL Team 6!!

I'm going to Ishinomaki during Golden Week, as a volunteer with the Nikkei Youth Network. They provide transportation, basic lodging in a gymnasium and don't charge any fees, other than a simple 1,400 Yen for insurance. Highly recommended organization!

When will this blatant piracy end? The world literally runs on fossil fuel, we cannot keep letting this situation deteriorate. It's time to call in private firms like Blackwater and sort these rogue pirates out once and for all.

Thank God that we still have countries like South Korea, who are not afraid to use force when needed! If I were a hostage, I would certainly have more faith in being rescued by South Korea than the EU.

Posted in: What do you think of the expression "Galapagos effect," that refers to some Japanese companies that prefer to focus on their domestic market and be less influenced by global technology trends? See in context

They should more appropriately refer to themselves as the "Ostrich with its head in the sand" effect, because that is what Japan is doing, socially and economically.

Those radical "Sea Shepherd-ers" are no different than pirates, spreading their aggression on the high seas. No one cares what they think.

I never even see them on any ads, shows, etc. It's like MM and SMAP have been replaced by AKB48 and Arashi.

The Whale hunting is authorized for scientific research by international agreement. Why should it matter if they use the extra whale meat in terms of commerce. Would you prefer that they just throw it away instead?

Posted in: Israeli foreign minister: Peace with Palestinians is 'impossible' See in context

The sovereign nations of the world should take a stand and unilaterally accept Palestinian statehood diplomatically, with or without Israeli concurrence. That would effectively end this ridiculous farce once and for all.

Posted in: China's spats call into question 'peaceful rise' See in context

China censors Facebook and other social networking sites. China allows a grand total of just 20 foreign movies to be screened (not just US/Hollywood, but 20 from the entire WORLD outside China) internally per year. China regularly threatens her neighbors through economic and military might.

Why is this even a QUESTION as to whether China is a danger to global freedom??
