@levinea

Same with me. I found that children must ride is child seats until the age of 6, but no where did I see that it is illegal to have a child seat in the front.

I agree, it is not the safest of options, but it it better than no child seat.

@ebisen

Show a little decency. A child is dead and his mother and brother are in critical condition. Without knowing the facts of the accident, you both assume to have known exactly what occurred.

Look at the video of the news report and see for yourselves the severe damage to the car. The investigation into what happened is ongoing. As of now, nothing has been said about seatbelts not being used.

The collision and subsequent damage was severe enough a child died and the family is suffering without commentors like you doing what has become commonplace on social media, thinking that you know everything without knowing anything.

From the US Embassy

NEW QUARANTINE POLICY FOR U.S. BUSINESS TRAVELERS TO JAPAN

This policy does not apply to those non-residents seeking to travel for tourism, family visitation, or other non-business purposes.

Before applying for a short-term business visa, each traveler will need to secure a “Responsible Stakeholder” to sponsor them while in Japan. The “Responsible Stakeholder” first must seek approval from the relevant Japanese ministry. Following ministry approval, the “Responsible Stakeholder” will communicate directly with the traveler in order to proceed with applying for a business-related visa.

What a long drawn-out process this will become.

Can't wait to see the restrictions placed on tourists and the hoops they will have to jump through just to visit.

Suga has repeatedly said there is no evidence linking the upsurge in cases to the Games.

The evidence is that the Games led to people letting their gaurd down cheering and behaving like everything was OK even as cases trended upward. So to say that there is no link is absurd. He knows it, but will continue to play the fool as round 2 of the COVIDLYMPICS is about to begin.

This is what Mr. Suga said,

"It's important to hold safe and secure Tokyo Games, curb the spread of infections during the period and prevent the spread of infections after the Games,"

This is what he was thinking,

"It's IMPOSSIBLE to hold safe and secure Tokyo Games, curb the spread of infections during the period and prevent the spread of infections after the Games,"

I wish J-Gov would stick it to the IOC and have an Olympics with no spectators. How would that look on TV? Not very good.

I am almost certain that the J-Gov is being pressurred to do this even though it isn't being said publicly.

Here's a thought: Many Olympic venues are still available for the next month or so. They would make prime mass vaccination sites. How about it IOC? Add that to your playbook on measures on how to keep Japan secure and healthy this summer.

But in a sign of the challenges ahead, a member of Ghana's Under-24 Olympic soccer team tested positive upon arriving in Japan for a friendly late on Wednesday, the Japan Football Association said.

All of Ghana's team, who will play Japan's U24s on Saturday, tested negative in the 72 hours before their departure.

This will not be the last time this happens. We will have to deal with every Greek alphabet variant before all is said and done.

Screen arrivals? How about screening those who are departing. BEFORE they get on the plane and then we could take the number down to 0%.

"The athletes definitely can make their Olympic dreams come true." What kind of rational is this. Oh and these healthy athletes will be bumped to the front of the line to get the vaccines that the rest of us have to wait for. These athletes feel conflicted, oh so I have heard. If they really feel conflicted, speak up and say that the games should be postponed or cancelled. Do the right thing and stop trying to seem sincere when we know better.

a child in critical condition could not find a pediatric hospital because they were all full. The child later died.

The Olympics and their need for doctors, nurses and hospital beds will only make the possibility of this happening to another family all the more likely.

The IOC should come. Come and visit the hospitals. Visit the sick who have to wait at home because there is no hospital that can treat them. Visit the families of those who have died because of other non related medical emergencies because there was no place to treat them.

No Mr. Suga, you do not understand. Because if you did, you would tell the IOC that as the leader of Japan that you have to protect your people and make their safety and security your number one priority and that these games will not be held.

But unfortunately for us this will never happen.
