Its the women in Afghanistan, Pakistan etc who are really treated abominably. And yet overwhelmingly its always boatloads of young males who illegally enter western european countries from those hellholes, bringing the same culture of mysoginy, grooming, violence and rape to their new “homes”.

Unfortunately, its been all downhill since John set the standard for the “artist ” as “activist”. Preening, vacuous posing hypocrites abound in the entertainment world now.

Beatles music - fabulous.

But John knew the limitations. You cant save the workd with songs.

When asked in the early 1970s how much the Beatkes music was a force for change he said, “All I see are a lot of uptight people, but now they have long hair.”

Imagine what he’d say now!

What the democratic world needs to do is deal with the Middle East as little as possible.

I couldnt agree more.

Speed eating as an Olympic sport must be next!

Everything has its use-by date.

The Olympic Games had its day and now it has decayed into corruption and farce.

Give the seat to Russell. He’ll drive the Mercedes just as well as Hamilton.

But if Russell had driven Hamilton’s car this year he would very likely be world champion. But that goes for most of the other F1 drivers too.

Russell is not a rookie and is not a mediocre driver. This is his second season, at age 22, in a slower Williams and he has shown his ability, to those who watch F-1 closely and follow driver's ability. He has shown great potential, speed and has elite level skill,

And how many points does Russell have from his two seasons in F1?

The Academy Awards are an irrelevancy. Apart from all the woke nonsense and chronic virtue signalling an Oscar no longer indicates the quality of a movie. If a film gets one, five, eleven or none it now means nothing.

So much for the Arab Spring.

Then again, what did the people do with their chance at democracy? In Egypt they voted in the Muslim Brotherhood in a landslide.

Forty years after John Lennon died at the hands of an evangelical Christian assassin,

Twentty posts and no one questioned this extremely dubious statement in the article.

And no, I myself am not an evangelical christian. I am however very concerned about the extreme erosion in the credibility of the media in current times and the gullibility of much of the public.

Hillclimber,

I agree completely. Russell is a mediocre driver who was on his way to revealing the reality about Hamilton, ie, the emperor has no clothes but has the very best car in the field. Almost anyone of the F1 drivers could win in that car, but certainly, hand that car to Verstappen, Vettel, Raikonnen or Ricciardo and Hamilton would be shown for what he really is - or more to the point, isnt.
