Complete waste of money, and just like the Olympics, will be distributed in brown envelopes to a select few.

And available 24/7 365 days a year. That needs to be looked at too. I wouldn't have a clue where to get this "quasi-legal" stuff, but alcohol on the other hand.......

Because alcohol is a hard drug, and most definitely not mostly harmless.

I saw these devices long before climate change became a religion. IT.IS.SUMMER, not a strange event

Meaningless now, the mental illness card has been played. Naturally huge support from fellow BBC luvvies, the same who have no problem reporting other non proven malicious accusations against non "BBC club" members. The hypocrisy stinks.

Posted in: Hospital doctors walk out in UK health service's biggest ever strike See in context

I was stunned to discover just how bad the public health is in the UK for so many people now.

I'd agree with that. The reason? The mentality that it doesn't matter what the individual does, the NHS will fix it... free of charge. Well it isn't free, and many will not take personal responsibility. Obesity is a real problem, no worries, the NHS will save my life. That's what a welfare state achieves

Posted in: Hospital doctors walk out in UK health service's biggest ever strike See in context

Gareth Miles has nailed it with his comments. Here I can book an appointment with my doctor and see him the same day (book early of course). In the UK you can wait weeks, by which time you have recovered or died

Alfie, if you read that rag, you are misinformed.

Well, according to this recent Times article

Posted in: Huw Edwards named as BBC presenter at center of explicit images row See in context

The issue is the BBC, publicly funded, yet again trying to cover up problems. What Edward's did in his spare time is his choice, if it's legal. The BBC force the license fee on people who can't necessarily afford to pay it. That fee must go

I only eat imported butter and cheese and will continue to do so until Japanese farmers get there act together.

There is a demand in Japan for some good quality, domestic produced extra mature cheddar. Not the bland US, NZ Seiji-Ishii stuff. We need good English-style cheddar

Posted in: UK elections watchdog says new voter ID law stopped thousands from casting ballots See in context

It's an example. I could have used picking up a parcel from the post office / using free buses / driving cars / travelling abroad / heaven forbid, getting married needs ID which could be used to get a photo ID.. take your pick. My comment stands, they are lazy, the government has offered photo ID free of charge if they could only get off their ar$e and get it. Lazy, no excuse...

If they forgot it on the day, tough

So you are erroneously claiming the 14,000 people who couldn't vote are also claiming welfare.
