The parents of children who will lose their lives due to this, and the babies born with radiation linked deformities might disagree with you It's Me.

Cancer is no big deal? Believe me, if my children died of it, it would be the biggest deal I would ever have to deal with, their lives and mine destroyed in one fell swoop.

Akula, you are very lucky to have a wife who cares so much about you and your health and wellbeing. What is wrong with drinking once a week and in moderation, once you are a grown up with responsibilities?

Don't be afraid of cancer, if you are afraid of cancer, you are afraid of life itself. Just enjoy and treasure your life every day.

Im afraid of my children getting cancer as a direct result of Fukushima, and as I am their main care giver, Im afraid for myself, as they need me. Of course if you are cold heartless Japanese with no love in your heart for others, then cancer is meaningless as is the potential for huge suffering as a direct result of Fukushima radiation in the air, food and water.

More pushing of Fukushima prefecture as a safe and desireable destination. Pathetic really.

The media isnt attacking anyone Ninja, its the Japanese men doing the attacking of defenceless little kids. As usual.

We would never visit a sham democracy with an appalling human rights record anyway, Basher. If it is common to arrange marriages with 7 year old girls, then Bhutan has a long way to go before they should be welcomed on the international stage.

*"The royal couple apparently met when aged 17 and 7 respectively at a family picnic in Thimphu.

The then-prince got down on his knees and said "when you grow up, if I am single and not married and if you are single and not married, I would like you to be my wife, provided we still feel the same," he told students in August. *

If a 17 year old said this to my 7year old daughter, he would never see her again, be reported to the police as a danger, and be lucky to escape without my husband punching him in the face, King or not.

Oh, Net, my dear. Don't be so touchy! I'm no monster either. I believe this man IF he did this to this child acted monsterously, and IF that woman did that to her son, so did she. No one gets the benefit of the doubt due to gender, race or any other factor beyond their control, with me. Im universally judgmental of people who hurt children.

I was just pointing out how quick you are to excuse men, and how similarly quick you are to damn women. Dont you think in Japan the coldness and the monstrosity is gender blind? Its Japan, Ninja, its ALL messed up, male and female.

If this man did this, he deserves a long stint in prison. Why does a man deserve the benefit of the doubt more than a woman? I call it like it like I see it too, and I was just pointing out you are selectively judgemental, based on gender.

I dont care if you are civil to me, dear. Im not that much of a delicate flower.

Netninja, whenever a woman is accused of hurting a child you are the first there with comments like "MONSTER!!! Japanese women always attacking and hurting the boys. " - that was one of yours from an article about a woman beating her son with a bokken a month or so back. However when it is a man accused of hurting a small child, you are the first to give the benefit of the doubt.

Some people's self worth is clearly tied up in their looks and weight, and that is how they judge others.

But if it was the mother who did this, NetNinja, you would be blaming her, one hundred percent, but of course, its a man, therefore he must be innocent.

We really loved our trip to Australia. The children were made very welcome, and the zoos, aquariums, and activities like swimming with dolphins were perfect and well organised. Hotels are cheaper than Japan, and much nicer. People are laid back and relaxed, and you dont have to be scared of blowing your nose or offending someone by accident. That said, I dont think political correctness got to Australia, which may be a good thing. Its not racism, more "tell it like you see it", which isnt bad, just takes a bit of getting used to.My Japanese husband did have a problem with the accent at times, but it just takes a bit of getting used to according to him.

The food is a little dearer than the very cheapest places to eat out in Japan. Then again, Ild rather starve than go to gusto for a 500 yen lunch, let alone some nasty beef bowl or radioactive onigiri.

In fact we love it there so much we are trying to emigrate. Much nicer and friendlier than Japan, not dreary and depressing like the UK, and not full of guns like the US.

A good proportion of it is water retention and can be minimised but not eliminated by a low sodium diet, but yes they really increase appetite a lot. Not like I was head down in the trough, but enough to put on 2 and a half stone - from 8 stone to ten and a half stone. Im on massive doses of prednisone, which I need to control a chronic health condition, so I have to get on with it. But if I dont eat regularly I feel physically sick.

They also cause swelling of the face and abdomen, which doesnt help matters.

Im not so fat I spill onto the next chair on a plane, and that was mean actually.. But Im loved, Im happy and I feel free. I dont give a damn what people think of how I look for the first time in my life.

Still, Im loved, Im getting it under control, and I totally understand why people want a pill to help them, if they are in a desperate situation regarding their weight. Its not stupid, its needing help.

I understood you perfectly, he had asked for help in the form of complaining to his mother about too much studying. Clearly she didnt do anything to help him. Saying you got help, so why cant others, sounds pretty judgemental to me. Its not that simple especially for Japanese young people.

Im fat. I admit it. I have to take steriods for a medical condition and just ballooned. Thing is, my family still love me, and my fatness doesnt bother anyone else, nor is it anyone elses business. Why do judgemental? What is other people's weight anything to do with anyone else?

Japan Gal, I'm guessing you are not 14 and Japanese. What do you think the likely response he got from his mother was? "Ganbatte" I'm guessing. Clearly no one really listened to him even when he asked for help. To be told to get on with it, instead of backing off or taking him to a doctor was clearly far too much for him to handle. Im very pleased you got help, but you have no right to judge this poor boy.

*Do you know what dating is? It does not mean being used, abused or exploited.

The real abuse here is from people who are literally locking them up from love and society,*

Dangerously deluded. I hope you have never acted on these strongly held convictions. We are talking about children here. As far as I am aware, the youngest is 12 or 13, and more than a few under 16. Dangerous sexual predators should not be encouraged to fantasize about making babies with these children.

Ive no desire to interact any more with someone who holds these views, it makes me feel sick.

I suppose what I cannot grasp is how anyone could defend sex with children, or see it as acceptable, nor any grade of child pornography as being something acceptable and undamaging to children. But that is where you and I are different. Im glad its something I cannot comprehend, and whatever I say you will still be shrieking about people's rights to use, abuse and exploit children.

A child's freedom from sexual exploitation trumps any deluded person's imaginary right to molest, sexually exploit or use children for sexual gratification. But the die-hard pedophile -defenders are intellectually incapable of grasping that fact. I wonder why?

I am absolutely sick with posters being allowed a platform to defend men having sex with any child who happens to already menstruate or is over 13 years old. Its sick, its illegal and it should not be allowed.

Nothing is really intrinsically "right" or "wrong*

Im afraid you are wrong there, screwing little boys IS absolutely, one hundred percent intrinsically WRONG, no doubt at all there. Sometimes I worry about some posters on here, and hold my children that little bit closer when Im out and about with them.

Ive seen some terribly underprotected kids in Japan. We hear about them here almost every day - run over by buses, committing suicide through bullying issues, abducted, abused, dumped in toilets. A parent takes their sick daughter to hospital and supports her through a tough time at school, they should be congratulated, not ridiculed, royal or not.
