"I do a lot of business with this company." Money over safety? Truely a Japan girl.

Im no royal apologist or fan, but people getting unpleasant over a little girl who is not well is a little pathetic.

Ild love to know what this man did to annoy his collegues. Talk about drawing the short straw. Some Japanese citizens might buy the propaganda, but it might be a little harder to brainwash the rest of the world.

These are readily available for less then 1000 yen in ToysRus Japan. No excuse for a child darting under some poor drivers wheels.

Noone is asking for mothers to be perfect, just not lazy in looking after their children in the street. If they are not holding hands, they need to be on reins or strapped into a pushchair. Any mother who fails to do this, even for a moment is risking their child going under the wheels of a bike or car.

Fish needs to be dredged with flour before frying. The starches mix with the fish juices during cooking and gelatinize. The gelatinized starch provides a sticky coating that serves as an insulating layer between the meat and the hot pan. It helps prevent it stick to the pain and also helps the fish cook nicely without drying out and ends up with a thin but crisp and flavorful coating which in this case would act like a barrier to the teriyaki sauce. Its a perfectly acceptable way to cook a piece of buri.

Nigel it is not a case of hindsight, it is a case of extreme negligence on behalf of the mother. Not an accident, but negligence leading directly to the child's death. There should be no way on earth the baby could have got under the bus without anyone knowing, because that baby should be held or restrained and within the sight of the parents at all times outside of the house. She was only 1.

I promise you Otani, it could never happen to me. I hold onto my children out the house. They little ones have to hold my hand, or wear a blackpack-leash, or go into their pushchair. I would never physically let go of a one year old child outside of the house, and in the house I never ever take my eyes off them at that age. I do not ever and I mean ever let go of a one year old child. Perhaps you do, perhaps it could have happened to you, in which case i suggest you take some parenting classes, but dont suggest that all of us are bad mothers.

You have to be kidding me right? The propaganda mill is working overtime promoting Fukushima on Japan Today, I see. Have people no morals at all? No concern for people's safety and future wellbeing? Just money money money and propagating the fallacy that Fukushima is safe to visit and buy produce from, despite the estimate of the amount of radiation being released is now two times what it started out as.

Posted in: Three steps for coping with bullying, privately See in context

No adult should ever let bullying get to the stage where the victim needs to "hospitalize" the bully, nor should any adult ever advise this as an acceptable course of action to a child who is being bullied. Schools need a zero tolerance bullying policy, and bullies suspended and excluded from the school, of course in non-international schools in Japan this would never happen. Bullying is a way of life here.

I find everything Donna has written to be at best very distasteful and ineffectual, and at worst potentially damaging to the self esteem of any child who reads this and takes it to heart. It is never the victim's fault, it is nothing that they are doing wrong, nothing about who they are or how they conduct themselves. It is all about the bully personality defects, and their parents inability to raise a child with basic compassion, empathy and humility.

I wont deny it can be a problem to get a small child strapped in a pushchair, or safely, and a one year old can certainly squirm and resist. However, every decent mother tolerates the embaressment of them throwing themselves around or screaming for a bit, or knocks out their back holding them on their hips.

It is not like a one year old is impossible to restrain. There is no way she could suffer as much as that poor child, neglected so she suffered a horrible fate under the wheels of a bus. Due to her negligence the child only had one year on this earth, will never get to grow up and have a life like her mother has had. This pathetic excuse for a mother does not have an excuse for her uselessness.

So its ok blame the victim for the bully's behavior? Disgusting. The only person who need to change is the person doing the bullying.

Why wasn't the mother holding the one year old baby's hand, or why wasn't she strapped into a pushchair for safety by a road? I see this every day, tiny children dawdling alone, with no one actually holding onto them, their parents oblivious somehow to the dangers of cars, bicycles, and other people.

Posted in: Nuclear radiation from Fukushima twice more than estimated: report See in context

Such bold faced liars, trying to work out what is the minimum they can admit about the seriousness of the situation at any given point. They downplay it and bully the media and foreign governments into also downplaying Fukushima, lie about the levels released and the state of the reactors throughout the whole disaster, then want to say there will be no "significant" health risks. Im pretty sure the health risks will be pretty significant to the families that will lose people or suffer from cancers and birth defects caused by the Fukushima meltdowns. What little respect I had left for Japan has been destroyed over the past 7 months.

And I feel terribly sorry for you if you think that putting a baby in a plastic bag and throwing it in the trash is a parent showing adequate concern and love for their child, whether they desire to raise it or not.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

Posted in: Newborn baby found in convenience store toilet trash can See in context

Do you know what the definition of trash, is Ben? Worthless discarded objects. She threw her own daughter in a receptacle for worthless discarded objects full of unsanitary dirty things, and not only this she bothered to put the child into a plastic bag, knowing full well that noone can breathe properly if they have a plastic bag over them, let alone a new born baby who has had its umbilical cord cut and just left unclipped. How can you possibly think she had this child's best interests at heart?

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

Posted in: Newborn baby found in convenience store toilet trash can See in context

Then why not leave the baby on the floor, at least wrap it in an item of her own clothing, if she cared at all? Why put it in a plastic bag, thus restricting its breathing, and then put it in the trash? If you put a plastic bag over a baby, what happens Ben? It is likely not to be able to breathe. If you then put that baby in plastic into a bin, it is even more likely to not survive. She concealed it, and deliberately did things which were likely to harm the child. Lets concentrate on what she did, rather than didnt do. She did cut the cord herself, she did put the child into a plastic bag, and then put that baby in plastic, into a concealed place - ie the trash. How about this, how about she gave birth somewhere sanitary, then gave the baby up for adoption, or at least dressed it, wrapped it up warmly and put her in a safe and clean place, rather than throw her own daughter into the trash.

If you put a newborn living thing in a plastic bag, and then in a trash can, your intentions are not for it to survive

Posted in: Newborn baby found in convenience store toilet trash can See in context

She put her in a plastic bag, and threw her in a trash can. A baby in a plastic bag could very easily suffocate. She wasnt wrapped in a blanket and put somewhere sanitary. There is nothing about this that said she wanted that baby to be found alive and well.

When she finds out, as she will, that her mother put her to suffocate in a plastic bag, and then threw her as trash, in a filthy bathroom bin, she will certainly need healing, and therapy and a lot of love to help her recover from the psychological wound that her mother threw her away like she was trash.

Posted in: Newborn baby found in convenience store toilet trash can See in context

She clearly didnt want this baby, but how could she give birth somewhere so unsanitary, look at her new born daughter, and put her to die in a plastic bag and throw her in the trash? How could she do that? What is lacking in this monster of a woman that she is able to try and kill her newborn and walk away, condemning that child to be cold and suffocating in a bin? I hope that the little girl finds love with a family who will treasure her and that will heal the hurt this useless female caused to her.

Posted in: Tochigi man busted for stealing school girls' uniforms, underwear in 3 prefectures See in context

Im sick of reading posts promoting and defending sexual behavior with or towards children. I know it will be the same old rehash of the same specious arguments that:

1)Their behaviour is not harmful or is less serious than claimed. 2)That the child was sexually provocative and encouraged/initiated the act. 3)That they are being helpful to the child and are contributing to the child’s development. 4)That the acts had educational value. 5)That they are teaching the child about the “facts of life” or “love”. 6)That the child enjoyed the acts or attention.

Have I missed anything out Chewitup?

Im glad he was caught and I hope that he had not gone further than this sad act of stealing clothes. Poor girls, they must be so freaked out to know that some pervert stole their undies.
