PS There are US auto dealers here in Japan. That means that they can make cars that meet Japanese safety requirements. They just don't sell. They should ask why.

"Non-tariff trade barriers" for US automakers? NONSENSE! More than 300,000 foreign brand cars are sold in Japan every year. It is just that none of them are US brands. Why are the European car makers so successful? US automakers should take a good look at themselves. Or you can see their sales campaign: "Unsafe but really cheap!!"

European cars are all over Japan, selling more than 300,000 a year. Why can't the US makers get in on the market? First they tried pricing their cars like the European cars. Japanese were not fooled. And they don't make cars for the Japanese market. Remember about right side steering, Lee Iococa said: "We don't have to have to make right side steering. Japanese will drive Crystlers for the status" (paraphrasing from the Japanese version). Don't even think about safety. And you wonder why Japanese don't buy American cars. Time to turn to China, which Abe is slowly doing (joining Belt and Road, AIIB, RCEP etc).

Totally gay gokai wants to marry his partner of almost 20 years (we met in junior high). But I'm afraid that if there is a change, it will look like it is because of outside foreign pressure, not because of an internal change of heart.

@ILoveCoffee The Japanese constitution was written by Americans. Article 24, Paragraph 1, says marriage is an agreement between "both sexes" (両性の合意) when deciding to get married. This was in the context of stopping forced marriages by parents, and gay marriage was not on their mind.

There is really no way that Trump will agree to joining the TPP. Quiting the TPP was one of his main campaign promisses. He cannot do anything to upset his base. Japan should see its future with China rather than the USA.

One news source says "sexual assult", another says "attempted rape", and yet another says "groping". These seem to be rather different in degree (I'm not a native English speaker). What is going on here?

Why "broken" Japanese?  How about "developing" or "in process"?  "Broken" sounds so negative, and she is trying.

I'm not a tennis person, but just to clarify: Osaka would have won anyway, even without Sarena's penalties. Is that right?

Another thing to look at is whether you have any lose teeth. When you have total anesthesia, a tube is inserted through your mouth into your lungs, and if a lose tooth is knocked out and into your lungs, that can be a big problem.
