Posted in: New York officials urge Floyd protesters to get coronavirus tests See in context

I was watching CNN and they interviewed Black people in the top ranks of government, politics, and companies, asking them what they think of the demonstrations. But they never ask how, in spite of all the racism, these people made it to the top ranks. That is what I want to know.

Japan didn't have any discrimination against same sex relations until Western influences came to Japan. Lots of Samurai had their young male partner because you can't take your wife to battle. Yes, it wasn't just gays who liked guys. Too bad Japan came under this influence.

I've never seen the show, but yes, I think that the show should continue to show the consequences of bullying and also show how the members deal with the grief of the loss.

Posted in: Warning over surge in demand for cosmetic surgery in Japan See in context

Why do Japanese, or any Asian, want to look western? So we have such an inferiority complex? When I was in Taipei a few years ago, there was a large sign on a building offering cosmetic surgery to change your Taiwanese look to a South Korean (K-pop?) look. I couldn't really see the difference between the before and after pictures.

Japan does not need many charaties because the wealth distribution in Japan is more even than most other countires. We are not a country where the 1% owns 80% of the wealth, and everyone else lives in poverty. Nearly everyone has an income that ensures a stable life.
