He is a little short-sighted. Robots have only begun. It is said that they will become conscious and be able to make any decisions that humans can.

I can say with certainty that these officials will become instant celebrities. They'll be on all the talk shows.

I know it seemed silly at first, but more and more I'm getting the impression that it was porposely made easy for Ghosn to escape if he wanted to. But by whom and why?

Please understand the 99% conviction rate. That is because courts don't prosecute cases that don't have hard evidence. Those cases are all dismisssed. Since only cases with hard evidence are actually tried, there is a 99% conviction rate.

@Burning Bush Yes, that is why it is dangerous for Americans to let trans women into the woman's restroom. Some of them are originally heterosexual men. They are still heterosexual after conversion, and still desire women even after "becoming" one.

@Buble Boy This can be found in any psychology textbook that deals with these issues.

Posted in: Asia's first LGBT-focused streaming service tackles taboos See in context

@Burning Bush Don't confuse biological sex (male/female), sexuality (hetero/homosexual), and gender (male/female identity). Trans people have a gender that is the opposite of their body, and has nothing to do with sexuality. They change their body to match their gender. A heterosexual man may identify as a woman, and become a trans woman but still be heterosexual (s/he still desires women). Gay men who identify as male are not going to change sex. Same with lesbians who identify as women.

Totally gay gokai is glad to see this. Asia and the rest of the world really need to get rid of the European colonial teaching about gays. In Asia, there was no particular thought about gays until the European colonizers (a polite term) came and said it was bad. That we still believe this is "colonized consciousness". We need to get rid of that. In Japan, for example, the shunga (春画), which were manuals to teach about sex since the 16th century, tought how to do gay sex, usually in the end chapters. But these were deleted in modern times because of Japanese colonized consciousness. Only recently have these sections been restored in modern editions. That's progress.

Shibuya station area has changed so much. Lots of memories there growing up in the 80s and 90s, but now all the unique memorable places are gone, replaced with standard skyscrapers. The same is happening in Shinjuku, where I live. And maybe everywhere.

My family went to the sento almost every night while I was growing up in the 80s and 90s. There were guys with heavily tattooed bodies, but nobody paid any attention to them. When Japan modernized in the 1800s, they chose to follow Britain's capitalist imperialist economy, so of course they invaded and took over Asia (taking much of it from Britain). Japan should apologize for imperialism in the same manner that Britain has apologized.

I was surprised to read that San Franscisco had put up a comfort woman statue. The US has stayed out of the issue because, although not well known, after the war, the comfort woman had to service US occupation forces. Some comfort women were from Korea and China, and they were the same ones that had serviced Japanese soldiers during the war.
