Posted in: Political parties promise increased child aid, but more than money needed See in context

*The government of former Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga decided to abolish the monthly provision of 5,000 yen per child up to 15 years old to households whose heads annually earn 12 million yen or more, beginning October 2022, to secure funds to increase day-care facilities.*

Actually they started in October 2021 silently. And I it’s not 12 million it’s 9.6 million. I received a letter from city office that my child support has been reduced to 5000 a month. It’s interesting that people earning between 9 and 13 million annually get hit the most by all scam pension premiums and taxes.

LDP is all about taking money from the middle class and ensuring that they fall below the poverty line.

Posted in: NTV employee arrested for groping woman on train See in context

Let's weigh this up.

a. Are men more likely to grope women, or are women more likely to lie about being groped.

b. Are men more likely to deny groping, or are they more likely to admit it

if I answer subjectively like you have based your question, women have more incentive in lying about groping while as a man I don’t see any pleasure in groping a woman, so no pleasure versus monetary benefits, I will say monetary benefit will be a winner.

I don’t think you are giving a chance to a man to admit or deny because in your previous comments, you have already declared him guilty.

@girl_in_tokyo

I have known at least two cases where men were accused by women wrongly. Once by a student who didn’t get good grades by a professor, the guy chose to fight and had his career destroyed, few years later the witness who was the accuser’s friend and a co conspirator had a change of heart, came forward and told the truth.

In second case one of my co-workers was accused by a group of high schoolers, he was arrested and held at police station for a day, lucky for him the same group had been doing this and the lead detective figured it out so he could get free.

So yes it’s pretty much he said, she said at the moment. Neither you or anyone with a different opinion has any proof for either side.

Who benefited from our failure in Afghanistan, most Americans are still misinform, that Pakistan wanted Afghanistan to fail, out of jealousy so they did not want too see Afghanistan prosper, while their country was still living in misery Bin Laden was living in Pakistan,9/11 mastermind was from Pakistan, Taliban headquarters were in Pakistan

Don’t pretend to be an American. Your English gives it away. But if you are still claiming failure as “your” maybe you are a bhagat

Setting some facts straight, 9/11 master mind was a Kuwaiti named Khalid Sheikh Muhammad, the hijackers were all Saudis and if US had actually taken care of the Saudis instead of bombing poor Afghans, things might have turned better for the entire world.

Yes the people shouting “death to America” were also identified as somewhat “friendly” as well by the CNN reporter.

Western Propaganda machine at work again. Shamelessly trying to restart another war for the poor Afghans while sitting in their safe countries. Similar reports were released before invasion of Iraq about WMDs which was found to be untrue.

Japan has officially spent $15.4 billion on the Olympics, and government audits say it is much more. All but $6.7 billion is public money

Was it too hard to write that $8.7 billion is public money, or is this just a way to throw the lower number for public?

So Japan is going to ask 10 nations to accept its vaccine passport but won’t reciprocate. The question i had in mind is will Japan accept its own vaccine passport for returning residents or will it be valid for Japanese passport holders only?

This is nothing more than a blatant attempt to put blame of rising numbers again on foreigners. Japan isn’t letting any foreigners in, so how will they get to the duty free shops?

If LDP clowns had spent half the brain to find a solution they would have succeeded but since the start of pandemic their entire thought process is to come up with ingenious ideas to blame non Japanese

I am actually always surprised how all the countries with history of barbaric invasions always play the China card to create hysteria. Has China invaded any country so far or has toppled the Governments?

A free world means every country in the world including China has the right to build military according to their needs. And no other country or group of countries has any right to dictate the needs or required capabilities.

Also, aren’t military plans and strategies supposed to be a secret. Does Japan know the plans and strategy of it’s allies or share its own plans with them?

So countries with low positive rate and infection number than Japan are on red list splitting families, in some cases families with kids who need to get back to continue treatment for serious life threatening illness are not eligible for an exemption under special circumstances but people related to Olympics do.

I am really happy that the way Japan handled covid and treated hard working, tax paying foreigners with xenophobic attitude without any shame has made it an easy decision to leave Japan for good.

Every drop counts so it’s good that we are getting more opportunities to get vaccinated but in my honest opinion, all the “positive” news about covid vaccination in Japan is pathetic attempt by the J Gov to save face.

The media outlets will be bombarded with non news (by repeating the same thing over and over) to create a false sense of serious action by the government.

I still cannot understand the maths.

Mass vaccination centers in Osaka and Tokyo can vaccinate 15,000 people a day but the total number of slots available are 49,000 and 25,000.

so they took reservations for less than 5 days of capacity in Tokyo and 5 days in Osaka?

I find Tokyo’s female Governor’s comment to be more insulting yet very true representation of the mindset of Japanese political elite, which is all about projection of a fake progressive country without actually changing a thing. I was hoping that as a rare female powerful politician she may comment on the underlying problem and not only about the perception of Japan overseas.

With experience in the software and hardware industry, I can say we will see a lot more glitches in coming days across multiple companies. Japanese companies suddenly have came to a conclusion that hiring from India is a magic bullet. But unlike other countries who hire top quality talent across the globe including India and pay them fairly the only focus Japanese companies has, is to hire cheap talent, put them under a Japanese manager who has no idea on how to communicate internationally, and the only motivation is shouting banzai banzai banzai.
