Posted in: Minister cautions U.S. military after part falls from U.S. Navy jet, hitting house See in context

Parts don't fall off of planes that aren't being used to expand empire far from home. So, there's my protest on this. I suppose if I actually bothered to file U.S. taxes I'd be upset at the wasted part, but instead I'm just worried that a part is going to fall on MY house.

Go back to the U.S. Just because the Japanese gov't likes U.S. military presence doesn't mean a thing. They're the same breed of gangster anyway.

What a useless article. How about identifying the park in question? Is that too "newsy" for JT?

Posted in: 57-year-old Saitama tax chief arrested for taking pictures of naked 9-year-old girl See in context

I was out somewhere and there was a boy approx 7 years old frolicking naked in a fountain. I thought it was a great scene and wanted to photograph it (I fancy myself a photographer). Despite not being attracted to boys, especially children, I felt guilt for even wanting to take the photo! This is crazy, but had I taken the photo I'd likely be in jail. Of course, if my girlfriend took it we'd likely be in the clear. After all, who is the victim of nude photos? No one!

Posted in: Author Barry Eisler finds gold on the mean streets of Tokyo See in context

goldsounds - huh? Since when does protecting the public against antisocial behaviour count as bossing around?

when you force private property owners to ban smoking, an act that is surely more dangerous than smoking itself. I'm sure the author can learn to find a bar that suits his needs on his own.

I really wish the country would catch up to the West in its respect for non-smokers.

Translation: I wish Japan would also learn how to boss people around more like America does and order private business to do things that I feel are important. God knows I can't just go to Starbucks...I want it MY way.

If the girls are showing the legs they shouldn't complain when people take photos of them! If he took a picture of her face, what would the problem be?

If you think this is "karma" you have a messed up set of morals. I'd rather see every whale in the ocean turn to dust than have one human being drown in the ocean.

Couldn't those floating hippies have just picked him up? Don't tell me they weren't hanging around.

I have a great idea: In a time where Japan is in serious need of inspiration and freedom, let's crack down on fun and make it as boring as possible!

Why don't they just legalize prostitution and let people do what they want?

Posted in: BOJ cuts key interest rate to 0.1% to try and boost Japan's economy See in context

God forbid Japanese get to hold a currency that's worth something! If you take this to its logical Keynesian conclusion we should just force everyone to spend every cent....that'll make us all rich!!

Personally, I prefer to have a currency with value. The dollar is going to hyperinflate to Zimbabwean Weimar Republic levels, and if Japan follows it down the slide we're all screwed.

Note to Japan: You don't need the U.S economy. They are bringing you down, and every cent you lend them is a cent you won't get paid back. Time to enjoy the fruits of your own labor and let them (my homeland no less) wallow in the mess they've made through easy credit from the Fed.
