Been keeping a change jar at my entrance for a couple decades now. Just dump all my pocket change in it at the end of the day. Great way for some spending/savings cash after a few months time.

But good luck depositing it into your account. Banks across the board in recent years have made it increasingly more difficult to deposit loose change like this. You'll need to do it via ATM and many nowadays have a change slot in order to prevent large change dumps. Better do it off busy hours during the day because it'll require you to be a while at one machine in order to do it.

Put up smart cameras, warn with threat of non-issue of future travel visas if caught, and if caught, 100 public lashings at Asakusa's Kaminarimon, Shinjuku's ALTA-mae, or Shibuya's Hachiko Square. And just to show our soft side, the guilty can decide the venue.

Tourists here REALLY need to follow the, "When in Rome..." adage. It's the whole reason they visit, isn't it? To see/experience something different from their own culture, lifestyle, living.

Too many tourists visiting and doing exactly what they'd do back in their own country causing a plethora of issues. Leave all that at home. Come as an empty vessel and maybe leave a little wiser, more experienced.
