1 Million in just one day is a fantastic achievement for a gaming console. I believe that's a new record for gaming consoles.

China is trying to provoke Japan into a military action so that they can say that Japan started it.

Don't fall for it Japan. Let China screw up first (even if that will result in loss of Japanese lives) and then you will be able to defend yourselves for all the world to see.

They need to showcase Hatsune Miku (and other Vocaloids).

I'm also interested to see how far projection technology will have advanced by 2020.

TEPCO should make hay out of this and invest in domestic green energy programs. It'll reduce importing foreign energy and eventually increase Japanese competitiveness in export markets.

China is doing it's best to pollute the environment! They can't help it.

The US should just permanently park a carrier fleet around the Senkaku Islands. They could deal with the Chinese incursions while Japan's coast guard deals with the Japanese nationalists trying to land on the islands.

The Miku campaign was TOO successful. http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2013-03-12/domino-hatsune-miku-pizza-boxes-sells-out

Domino's Pizza started a nationwide collaboration campaign called "Domino's Feat. Hatsune Miku" last Thursday. It began selling medium and large pizzas in Hatsune Miku Special Boxes decorated with artwork and delivering them on a Miku-decorated Domino autobike. The event was expected to last until May, but the pizza company ran out of boxes much earlier than expected.

According to Domino's official Twitter account, the limited edition boxes are temporarily out of stock, and it announced that it is increasing production, and more of the prized pizza boxes will be available by the end of March. However, the company also warned in advance that due to the limited quantity, the campaign will end as soon as the boxes run out.

Posted in: Thousands across Japan rally against nuclear power See in context

People of Japan should put their money where their mouths are and buy (Japanese produced) solar panels and wind turbines until their pockets are empty. This will help the green industry in Japan scale up faster with such huge demand from their own citizens and then they can export their products in an increasing competitive market.

That video is hilarious. Scott is a real trooper enthusiastically selling the promotion. Only thing missing is a special Miku themed Pizza, although I think people may not buy into green anything on their pizza besides peppers.

I want those Miku pizza boxes and Domino Miku delivery bikes. Those looks great. :)

Posted in: Japan hails EU approval for free trade talks See in context

Japanese exports to Europe are negligible. The high yen prevents profitable trading in the automotive sector which is why they have plants outside of Japan as some are in Europe. I think they should be more worried about Japanese manufacturers abandoning those plants in Europe due to current economic downturn.

“THE END” was originally scheduled for two shows on the first and second of December but as all shows were sold out two additional performances were scheduled on the second and third of December. Those performances also quickly sold out.

That's quite interesting. There must be growing demand for more of these events featuring Hatsune Miku than previously thought. She has been marketed well this year in Japan, increasing her exposure to the general public. That might have contributed to the increased ticket sales.
