"Upskirting" is a relatively recent variety of perversion that is facilitated by modern technology such as the mobile phone camera.

Wrong.

'Upskirting' has been going-on for a very long time. These perverts used to use video cameras, concealed in bags of various kinds, to pursue this pathetic perversion.

Modern technology has only created, and enabled, more of these pathetic perverts.

Modern modes of female attire such as short skirts (especially on High School girls) create the temptation

That's right, it's always the victims' fault when a pervert can't control his urges.

--even for upholders of the law!

At what point did this particular pervert actually 'uphold the law'?

Good job.

To be brutally honest, I have not often found myself agreeing with the comments you post in this forum.

However, I totally agree with what you have said on this occasion; it is an irrefutable fact, as evidenced by the number of other 'commenters' echoing your sentiment.

Unfortunately, your +Vote Up button seems to be frozen, so I can't also register my support for your comment in that way.

Also, the fact that three people, from the outset, down-voted your comment, suggests to me that some individuals in this forum judge comments, not by what has been said, as much as, by who said it.

Very sad.

@Stormcrow,

Surely there are better people to choose from among conservatives, so why are the Republicans so attracted to nominating sexual predators and deviants?

Have you seen a conviction handed down on a sexual assault? Judge K. has not been convicted of crime. This all a political ruse of distraction. Noise from the Democrats. It is a smear campaign and character assassination.

Pure and simple.

Pure - Judge K.?

I don't think so.

Simple - Judge K.?

Yeah, I can agree with that

My word... the obvious Trump hatred here is staggering!

And, all of it self-inflicted.

Why do you Democrats insist on ignoring facts and keep harping on about anything other than relevance?!

Why do Trump and his acolytes insist on ignoring facts and keep harping.....?!

(it's rhetorical, no need to answer)

Millions?

Sorry, I meant TENS OF MILLIONS.

Quote: “ Japanese newspapers still sell over 40 million copies each day, amongst the highest number in the world, with more than 95% still bought through subscription.”

Is that why newspaper companies are teetering on bankrupts [sic]?

impaired or not, newspapers are old news and of no value to anyone

Obviously, you are entitled to your opinion, but I, and millions of people who purchase, and can read, newspapers would disagree with you.

BTW, what is your view in respect of other printed media such as books, magazines, manga, catalogs, instruction manuals, information bulletins, etc.?

AgentXSep. 18  01:33 pm JST

It’s hard to comprehend so many people defending this irresponsible and negligent woman. The child is dead because of her negligence and irresponsibility. That is the cold, hard and sad fact!

So, basically you are saying (or condoning) that any mother who fails to put helmets on their children and/or holds an umbrella incorrectly while using a bicycle.... deserves, not only, their child to be killed and... AND for them to then have a manslaughter charge placed on them.

I believe yours is a clear and concise interpretation of the original comment.

However, speaking from past experience, it is highly unlikely that you will ever receive a confirmation, or denial, of your interpretation.

We will have a conservative Supreme Court. Deal with it.

We won!

If that is true, the whole country has lost, and should ‘Deal with it’ at the ballot box.

Here's a thought, how about saving the newspaper in PDF,

To read a PDF document one needs to have a computer, which requires electricity to run, and compatible software to open the document.

copying it to a floppy disk

What is a floppy disk, and how can one use it with a computer that was built this century?

I also use an iPad; can I use a floppy disk with it?

and having the drone delivery the floppy disk to each resident every morning.

Yeah, that would be more efficient.

No, I don’t think so.

Let corporations who received the big tax breaks pay for the useless wall. They can put company logos on it like they do on stadiums.

Great idea, but Trump would never allow that to happen.

He wants the wall to be a monument to himself - you know, "Trump's Wall" (Hey, if it was alright for Hadrian to do it, it's alright for me)

The only logo allowed will be "TRUMP WALL" in yuuuge, tacky, Gold letters, every 50 metres.

Trump and GOP politicians are blaming this on the Democrats, even though the GOP holds the presidency and both houses. They're blaming their ineptitude on the party that literally holds none of the power. Just one more example of the GOP being completely worthless.

It is however quite entertaining to see the GOP feed upon themselves.

I fully agree with all of the above.

They're like a parasite.

Perhaps you should refer to them as harmful and destructive parasites because, otherwise, you are being quite unfair to the many parasitic organisms that can be extremely beneficial to humans and the environment.

Japan has zero security.

That's a gross exaggeration.

When the government releases information about security which state you should update your virus protection as the number one security measure you know they have no idea what they are talking about.

Then, what should the government be advising people to do?

I keep saying it.... these "hacks" have all the ear marks of a Yakuza job. The Yakuza basically identify an insider working at one of these Crypto companies. They then slowly approach the person, wine, dine and other things happen until they get their hooks in him. After that they put the pressure on and and go in for the kill. It is worth it.... and its virtually untraceable. The "insider" isn't going to say anything either. A lot of people think there is actually a "hack" happening.... I disagree.... it is an inside job.

That all sounds quite believable.

Now, how would you go about proving your theory.

Ascissor...please define "Gyakuso/salmon cycling" for those of us not in the know. My mental images cannot possibly be accurate.

I have been given to understand that, the expression "Gyakuso/salmon cycling" may refer to the, too common, practice of riding a bicycle on the right-hand side of the street or, as is the case with salmon swimming against the flow of water in a stream, against the flow of traffic.

Posted in: Mother indicted after 1-year-old son dies after falling off electric bicycle See in context

The key factor that caused this tragic accident seems to be the dangerous way in which the mother carried her umbrella.

I've spent some time looking at several 'mama-charis' and, frankly, I am at a loss to see any 'safe way' to carry an unfurled umbrella on one of these, or any other bike for that matter.

The most common way of carrying umbrellas seems to be to wedge them between the frame and rear carry-basket; obviously not the safest pace.

So, I ask myself, "how hard can it be to manufacture a clamp or bracket, which would be attached to a bike, to safely, and securely, hold an umbrella when it is not in use?"

I won't go into the use of opened umbrellas while riding a bike, because I don't believe there is any safe way to do this.

Feel free to offer any thoughts.

Why suddenly hit a grieving mother with their upright interpretation of the law now?

Why ask me this question? I have no connection to the police.

Fact is, this incident could also have been interpreted as an 'accident' from the beginning.

Quite right.

Hear you loud and clear on that one!

No, you haven't. Nobody has the right to assume they can speak on my behalf.

So, I reiterate that I do not identify in any way with whomever you believe represents 'We all'.

You and I are definitely not on the same team if you think that it is OK for the Police to selectively make-an-example at this mother's time of tragedy.

Wrong.

You and I are definitely never going to be on the same team because you presume to suggest that I would ever "think that it is OK for the Police to selectively make-an-example [sic] at this mother's time of tragedy".

Those are YOUR thoughts and words NOT MINE.

So you righties are ok with the new GROPUS?

That seems to be the case.

Trump’s followers and other extreme rightists in the US and ‘abroad’ have bought into Trump’s immoral and unethical idiot-ology. One part of Trump’s base is made up of frustrated males who blame their various inadequacies (shortcomings?) on those who’ve had fewer opportunities and alternatives than them. They seem to think a level playing field should be one where women and non-WASP males are lower than them, just like the playing fields their ancestors had in the wayback.

Remember, these are people who think ‘progress’ is a dirty word.

No, sorry PT, the word 'progress' has far too many letters in it for these people to understand, let alone categorise as a dirty word; because everyone knows they only have four letters.
