Posted in: Allure of Japan's powder snow a growing danger as more tourists ski backcountry See in context
Japanese ski resorts are outdated compared to those in North America, Europe and Australasia. Outdated hotels, outdated lifts, outdated approach to backcountry skiing. Ski patrols should be triggering danger areas early morning and yes those skiers / snowboarders should have all the correct equipment understand the dangers and be willing to bear the costs of any eventuality. That’s said, Japan offers incredible backcountry potential and should capitalise on this as it’s good for inbound tourism.

I encourage my family taking masks off as much as possible. Mask wearing has nothing to do with bothering others..

Posted in: The pros and cons of living on Tokyo’s outskirts See in context
Mitaka is not inaka, I wouldn’t really even call it outskirts, tachikawa or hachioji is.
With such good public transport, everywhere in the Tokyo area is accessible. I personally wouldn’t want to to live in an apartment (or ‘mansion’ same thing), as it wouldn’t really support my lifestyle and stage in life, but for singles or couples in their 20s/30s it makes sense.

Please get rid of the masks too. I’m no medical professional but feel it’s having a serious impact on children's mental health.

Pointless reporting/publishing these numbers everyday. From what I’ve seen, it’s people with runny noses and throat tickles queuing outside clinics or demanding to speak with doctors.

numbers will keep going up and down like the flu. Time for the government to step in and recommend full removal of masks. I heard a child died from heatstroke wearing one…
