NATO has to win, otherwise the magical credit card that allowed us to buy goods and raw materials from the developing world the last fifty years will be cancelled.

My wishful thinking is that NATO will prevail and both Russia and China will be cut into smaller pieces, more manageable by the rules based world.

Quite obvious. If you love your life, do not live near a military outpost in front of enemy lines.
These are the first targets that will be blown away in case of conflict.

Some of the $500 million the CIA poured into Afghanistan reached Al-Zawahiri's group. Al-Zawahiri has become a close aide of bin Laden ... Bin Laden was only loosely connected with the [Hezb-i-Islami faction of the mujahideen led by Gulbuddin Hekmatyar], serving under another Hezb-i-Islami commander known as Engineer Machmud. However, bin Laden's Office of Services, set up to recruit overseas for the war, received some US cash.

The truck driver is from Kashiba, Nara. The woman may live in the neighborhood. I checked it in Sankei Shinbun. It was difficult to believe that a 77yrs woman would ride a scooter more than 40km all they way from Kashiba to Konohana.
