Posted in: Japan congratulates Taiwan's Tsai on victory See in context

The KMT failed the Taiwanese people by selling Taiwan out for quick riches from the CCP. The United States failed the Taiwanese people by adopting the "one China" policy for quick riches. The already independant nation of Taiwan could have declared independance in the '80s when China was weak and pulled it off... But now everyone is gorging on the China teat. Anything short of an immediate and absolute peaceful declaration of independance further empowers the tyranny of the CCP.

Have tickets to the 70mm showing on New Year's Eve. Looking forward to having my socks blown off. Made sure the theatre has a bar.

Mr. Pink still has to tip.

Posted in: Do you think that a man giving up his seat on a bus or train to a woman, holding a door open for her or holding her chair as she sits down is outmoded? See in context

Actually, one often does "hold" a chair until the person to be seated is in the process of sitting and gently pushed to the chair back in a comfortable amount. Pulling the chair out and letting go of it at a distance from the table that would allow one to comfortably move in front of the chair to sit would leave the person sitting far from the table and require them to grab the sides of their chair and do that silling hopping slide to get closer. And it is not outmoded... There are simply more uncouth people in the world today. And as for Japan, it can not be outmoded when it was never the norm.

Eat excessively so as to provide a solid base for the massive quantities of booze. Fun and yummy. But why wait for the holidays...

Regarding comments about grad-students and adjuncts teaching the courses in the US schools, I love how this is mentioned in a derogatory sense. If one accepts the premise of the article/study, then these grad-students and adjuncts are producing alumni superior to competing schools... And these grad-students and adjuncts are in their own right superior to the actual professors at the other schools... By the logic of the study. Congratulations to the hard-working grad-students and adjuncts of the USA!

It is a dazzle tank, cunning disguised to prevent people from aproximating its size and distance when it is floating on the high seas...

Posted in: Defense ministry asks for record budget to defend southern islands See in context

The sooner Japan starts constructing an oceanic institute on the Senkaku islands, and an established military presence to protect it, the better. Its that or hurry up and hand the islands over to China along with the rest of everything that Russia or Korea do not want. Silly to tinker with Article 9 and military budgets but fail to effectively assert national boundaries in the face of tyrannical states.

As long as she dices an onion in court , she will walk away a free woman with the blessings of the Japanese legal system.

Posted in: 7 decades after WWII, many praise Germany, scorn Japan See in context

Silly comparison. Germany is loaded with neo-Nazi's and the government restricts freedom of speech in the form of a Nazi salute or holocaust-denial. Forcing silence of views, even evil views, is hypocrisy and creates a false image of the country... which others laud. On the other hand, China and Korea disliked Japan before the war and still do... just as Japan had contempt for its Asian neighbors and continues to. But as for the war, Japan has apologized and been remorseful for too long. Revisit the 1950's-60's. Perfect, no. Progress, yes. And regress... Ningen no Joken could not be released today. But the complainers today have nothing to do with that anymore. Pure domestic politics... Like China, a totalitarian state destroying its own people to benefit a few politically connected ever-drums-up anti-Japanese sentiment to distract the public from the grim reality of the CCP raping the country and its people of everything while the West is happy to make a short-term profit off of the sham.

The character is pleasing and not over-the-top. Silly how much people complain. A little sexuality is a good thing... a pity so many people want to smother the world in a cloak of elevator-music-brown mediocrity.
