To stab people is not par for the course when having a romantic breakup.Mental illness is the cause of this.

Even in a disaster the government and local offices will attempt to regain bureaucratic control, even when hoop jumping rules do nothing at all to progress the situation-it was the same in the Kobe earthquake. Initially, charity and charitable acts are legion.Being in the earthquake zone in Kobe one could have a free bath, food and water, even make a free international call-all (mostly) provided by the local people to the local people.I never saw government relief supplies at all.In fact, I have deja vu as I witness Naoto Kan ,like his predecessor Maruyama being berated by the cold homeless people of Kobe/Tohoku. At the moment people in Tohoku are living in cramped dangerous and unhealthy conditions-people are in parks living in tents -the lucky ones have a space on the floor of a school gym or similar-meanwhile a trillion yen has been collected and is waiting for the victims. I for one am not holding my breath-plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose.

I now know that when my geiger counter makes a noise that I am being drilled by some minute , invisible particle that I can't see.I can only imagine the horror the when a geiger counter starts blipping away incessantly-it doesn't matter what the hell we call the units does it?

The brothers should have been evacuated.Billions of yen have been donated for cases as these. What is happening? Even now refugees are STILL sleeping on floors, young and old together, male and female.Privacy and toilet facilities, showers and baths are in short supply or lacking altogether. People are becoming sick too,the slow pace of action is appalling!

I am waiting to see how probing the questions are and whether the prosecution can establish a motive in this case? The accused's repeated attempt at evasion, ,martial arts training, repeated plastic surgery, mutilation of the body and the macabre attempt to hideand destroy it, are all factors that would lead any court to realise that Ichihashi is most certainly abnormal. If he can plead insanity I wonder how the case would fair?

What is the way to clear up a nuclear accident? There is no quick way. The general public and most likely the general politician really have no idea what is involved in this. The delivery of American robots and in the days to come, UK robots will show,Japan is under prepared for this incident. 9 months won't see the end of this as this is a unique event never before encountered.

Posted in: What do you think about the current disclosure of information by the Japanese government and Tokyo Electric Power Co (TEPCO) concerning the stricken Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant complex, comp See in context

It is not just the bankers in Tokyo that wanted to save their own skins. I know foreign executives of large companies in Kansai that were out of Japan as soon as the crisis started, not leaving anything to chance. At present there is no comprehensive study of where the fallout has gone. Nobody can pinpoint that with 100% certainty either. However, contamination of the food chain is sure to occur as fallout is ingested and moved around the country over time. The number of cancers that will occur over a 10-50 year period has been reported to be in the hundreds of thousand and the reactors are still spewing toxins even now.Accumulated contamination in the body is hard to detect, and is a real possibility for those living in the vicinity of the fallout. The truth is that even accurate information will not solve the problem. But I would assume the worst, until the whole place is totally covered with concrete, clay and earth.

A lot of land will be off limits for agriculture for many years to come.Radioactive contamination and the extent thereof needs to be checked all the way to at least Tokyo otherwise cancer related diseases will spiral!

Weiss is commenting on an incident that is far from over.

Weiss is an 'expert', and the definition of that is an individual who knows more about less and less.....

We should remember that exposure to radiation or ingesting radoactive particles is injurious to health-period.We don't have any safe levels of radiation.

"Industry minister Banri Kaieda maintained that contamination of the sea to be caused by the disposal will pose no major health risk, but apologized for raising concerns among the public, especially fishermen."

So the inference is that it will be a minor health risk, right? What is the definition of 'major'? And when is this information to be released? Many more questions than answers everyday!

'Radioactive iodine and cesium were found in fish caught off the coast of Ibaraki, north of Tokyo, the Yomiuri newspaper reported, citing a local fishery cooperative.'

The fish wasn't put on sale according to the report. However, there isn't a fishing ban in place as that would not be financially prudent would it?

'60 kilograms of sawdust and three bags of shredded newspaper' I don't know if I should laugh or cry? Get a team of men on diggers-dig a perimeter trench and line it with heavy duty plastics.Dig a channel from the plant to the trench.Release into trench and then pump the water into holding containers as necessary. And 'nylon booties?' if Japan doesn't have the necessary suit protection get it from Russian sources -Nuclear Manzai?

Posted in: How have the earthquake, tsunami and ensuing nuclear crisis affected your lifestyle? See in context

Yes!This has made me question authority, especially in Japan! If the triple whammy of earthquake, tsunami and radiation sickness don't kill you, the other problems of starvation and exposure will. The residents of the affected prefectures are actually going to starve to death or die from exposure. There is no mandatory evacuation from the central government yet fuel supplies and food aid is not being transported in sufficient quantities for the citizens. Companies nor government are not providing sufficient aid for whatever reason.;fear of radiation or lack of coordination is causing extreme hardship in Tohoku. This is causing me to doubt the meaning of my existence!
