Tunnels are also small-bore, using extracted dirt to build walls.

Building walls eh. There might just be a ready-made market for that dirt if you know who to ask.

Pelosi..................... said she had prayed with Trump during the private portion of the meeting, recounting the biblical story of King Solomon asking God for wisdom. After the meeting, the Democratic House fundraising arm immediately sent out an email asking supporters for money.

Mmmm, ask God for wisdom and supporters for money. Religion and money always seem to go together in the US.

But when she got to school, they told her ‘Tights aren’t allowed, because if your legs are warm, you won’t be able to concentrate.’

The school did not tell her this nonsense, a person at the school told her. A good journalist would have found that person and asked them to comment. Their comments (or failure to do so) should be reported along with their name and rank.

After all these alleged misconducts happened for many years while someone at Nissan was in charge of filing his taxes,...............

Nothing to do with his taxes and most certainly "someone at Nissan" would not be dealing with Ghosn's personal taxation.

Seems the whole damn board of Nissan should have been arrested.

HONG KONG (Reuters) - A leading corporate governance advocate said the board of Japanese carmaker Nissan must accept collective responsibility over alleged disclosure failings that led to the ousting of chairman Carlos Ghosn.

The remarks by Jamie Allen, secretary-general of the Asian Corporate Governance Association (ACGA), come as a biennial survey by the ACGA and CLSA, an Asia-focused brokerage, showed Japan sliding three places to seventh in a regional ranking of governance standards - the worst decline in performance of any country.

The charges against Ghosn have nothing to do with income tax.

I'm no expert at Japanese tax law, but if what Gohsn says it true, this is egregious. To be tax on income promised but not yet received is ridiculous.

The charges against Ghosn have nothing to do with income tax.

Posted in: Nissan CEO says staff feels 'dismay' at Ghosn scandal See in context

Ghosn, like all major executives, did not handle his own tax paperwork, it would have been way too complex considering he was paid by several different companies in several different countries. The paperwork was handled by his company appointed staff.

Burning Bush, if he can't even handle his own tax paperwork because it is way complex for him, how could he be qualified to run a business like nissan is beyond cronyism: it is corruption.

This is not about income tax, why do you keep on perpetuating this as though it is? Any high earner employs specialists to deal with personal taxation especially when it is as complex as Ghosn's; where is he tax resident, where is he domiciled, tax treaties between Japan and France for example, It's a very complex subject and for you to think that this "paperwork" is handled by his staff or even himself is ridiculous. Once again, this is not concerned with income tax.

Posted in: Kelly denies underreporting Ghosn's salary See in context

Ghosn probably had no idea how much tax he was or wasn't paying. In fact he had to file taxes in several different countries receiving a salary from several different companies. His company assigned secretaries handled all the paperwork.

This has nothing (as yet) to do with his income tax, why do so many posters think it does?

I have been an ex-pat since the 1970s and have always known how much tax I have paid.

His tax situation will be complex depending on where he is tax resident, where he is domiciled and how he takes advantage of any tax treaties. A man earning his kind of salary will employ the right specialists to deal with his tax affairs and will certainly not use "company assigned secretaries" to "handle the paperwork".
