no wonder Japan has become the laughing stock of the world,by the way Tepco and the politicians handled(mis?) the crisis from the beginning.

if the government is in control, why do we does the news keep getting bad day by day since the crisis started? I think Japan should act more responsibly by not trying to endanger the lives of worlds top class athletes and foreign fans by inviting them to a site which is only 2nd worst to chernobyl. not even the evil soviet regime tried to do that..

if you are patriotic enough to believe the lies from Tepco and the politicians, yes Tokyo is safe..but I doubt the international community will buy it.like Russia trying to hold Olympics at Chernobyl

the livelihoods of thousands destroyed due to the greed of a few Tepco executives and some politicians. The fishermen should still keep fishing the radioactive fish, and feed them to te nuclear supporters and right wing patriots.Guess I will have to stay away from Japanese sushi for a while..

Toyota should be held responsible for failing to apply the basic brake override(brake always has higher proirity over accel) in their software. Its time to come out in the open and admit it with real Samurai spirit...And it is pathetic how Toyot was working round the clock to fix the acceleration issue in the Emperors car while not caring a bit about the lives of ordinary Americans.

Seiryuu_DanJul. 28, 2013 - 06:35AM JST

4.,91 Million sold. Toyota = Toyota, Scion, Lexus, Hino and maybe Daihatsu

4.85 million sold. GMC = Chevrolet, Buick, GMC, Cadillac, Holden (Aus), Opel (GER), Vauxhall (GER), all wholly own by GMC. joint ventured in China with: Baojun (China), Jie Fang (CHN) and Wuling (CHN).

4.7 million sold. VW = Volkswagen, Audi, Bentley, Bugatti, Lamborghini, Porsche, SEAT, and Škoda.

I dont think GM,VW consider the joint ventures in their sales figures as long as they don't carry the GM,VW badge. And looking at you comment makes it more clear Toyota makes the calculation with 2 market segments(cars and Trucks) while others include only cars. That IS cheating!

Toyota+Hino is 4.91million, Only Toyota 4.83 milion. It should be too easy for GM or VW to buy a well selling Chinese truck brand and become no.1! With 4.85 million,GM is still no.1 this year. Looks like some twisted statistics to please Japanese nationalists!

@ebisen:All you you, UK citizens, complaining about the Eastern Europe immigration, look at Germany, and their very efficient way to deal with this:

Here in Germany it is pretty much the same, except that spouses from the "buddy countries(including Japan,Korea)" are exempted.looks like the Brit government is playing it equally on all nationalities.

If a Japanese Idol died of cocaine overdose, the J-media will immediately stop talking about him.But for a US-star they go as far as airing condolence messages(Nothing against it,I think he deserves one although he died of COD). There are some things about J-society that we will never understand..

Posted in: Abe, 4 central European leaders discuss nuclear technology deals See in context

what a hypocrite trying to export nuclear technology while people are trying to shut it down in his home country! When something goes wrong, they will handle it professionally just like the big Japanese carmaker who first tried to hide their electronics flaws when there cars were going off cliffs and killing American families...but makes sense because they don't care about the lives of Gaijin. The decision is not only upto these former east bloc nations, because a nuclear disaster the scale of Fukushima would affect Germany and neighbors too. Please ,no Soviet or Japanese nuclear "technolgy" for Europe!
