It's stories like this that I'm OK with paying for the internet. I gladly pay for some of the really cool stuff out there.

The word I get is that there are a lot of SEALs upset about the book. You don't give away tactics and you don't break faith with the SEALs. This guy did both.

Disgusting.

It seems that other than the base, the choice of Paul Ryan isn't too popular. One guy whose positions are harder to nail down than jello to a tree and another guy who used Social Security to pay for his college and now calls it a Ponzi scheme.

Team Obama took the day off.

You're held in pretty low regard when you get in to Quayle numbers.

No matter how the election turns out, one thing we can all take from this.

The mainstream media didn't report exactly what I wanted them to. They chose stories I wasn't interested in and presented facts that frankly scared me (facts do that when I'm channeling my inner conservative JT self) so there is OBVIOUSLY media bias and a conspiracy against me.

Because it's all about me.

Can I point out something about the republican budget?

IT'S FREAKING STUPID. Romney and Ryan want to push all the federal programs down to the state level. Outside of North Dakota, is there a single state that is in the black?

How are the states supposed to absorb all of these costs. You see I don't know. That part is never discussed by Paul Ryan. I wonder why that is.

I wonder how Mitt plans on winning the election knowing he'll lose California, New York and Florida. I also wonder if this isn't just a money grab on his part.

Has Mitt Romney ever shown any love for his homeland?

He spent Vietnam in Europe, receiving 4 deferments.

He made a fortune from outsourcing U.S. jobs to the third world

And now he plans on increasing taxes on 95% of us while giving his Cayman Island buddies a tax break.

I don't think the question is "Is Mitt Romney ready to be president?" I think the question should be, "Is Mitt Romney deserving of American citizenship?" Like everything else in his life, it was given to him. But does he appreciate it? I honestly don't think so.

Thanks. I laughed my ass off. Yeah, there's a HUGE media conspiracy and it's all documented on Wikipedia, the web's number one source for truth and accuracy.

Listen, the fact is, Sarah Palin is stupid and you don't like that the press let her hang herself with her stupidity. But it's been 4 years, let it go or get help.

You are so funny. "IT'S A MEDIA CONSPIRACY...unless I agree with it. Then the media is telling the truth."

Hilarious.

The Ryan plan calls for $6 billion dollars in cuts to the Veteran's Administration at a time when the VA's patient numbers are swelling.

If Romney/Ryan will back out on the promise made to those who've sacrificed most, what makes you think they'll keep a promise to you?

W.C. Fields said a sucker is born every minute. These tea partiers got PLAYED! The funny thing, I'll bet there are still some of them that are donating to Sarah Palin with the idea she'll run. I used to think Palin was stupid but the way she fleeced those "morans" of the tea party, she's pretty shrewd. Evil, but shrewd.

The Ryan plan calls for $6 Billion dollars in cuts annually to the Veteran's Administration, during a time when the number of Vets is swelling.

Neither of these two have any connection whatsoever to the military. They could not care less about our troops or our veterans.

If they'll break promises to those who risk the most, what makes you think they won't break a promise to you?

Not that Mitt was all that popular with veterans anyway, but he's going to lose a lot of the Veteran vote when they find out the Ryan plan calls for deep cuts to the VA at a time when the VA's numbers and services are swelling and in more demand.

Romney plans on breaking the promise that the United States makes to our servicemembers.

I couldn't, in good conscience, vote for him.

Posted in: New jobs report presents mixed blessing for Obama See in context

skipbeat,

You are still judging Obama differently than you did Bush. Why is that? You don't think getting Osama was important? Is it because Bush said so? He was DAMN important to me and the rest of America. Why can't you give Obama the credit for it?

As for the CC camps, my grandfather cut down trees in Minnesota and then replanted trees. It was busy work but it put people to work.

Obama is anti-business? I wish you guys would make up your damn minds. Is he in the pocket of Wall Street or is he anti-business? You can't have both and not be laughed at.

And you're saying the Democrats were supposed to fix the worst economy in America since the Great Depression in two years, with the republican party fighting against him tooth and nail, just because he's black.

You gave Bush decades to solve the War on Terror but Obama gets 24 months? Can't you see the overwhelming double standard you bear?

Again, and it's not a with you laugh. It's an at.

The right wing in America becomes more dangerous every day.

Perhaps the USA Patriot Act wasn't a bad idea after all. It gives the govt. the power to go after these right-wingers.

skipbeat,

OK, George Bush kept us safe but getting Osama counts for nothing. That's what your saying.

I'm sorry but I can no longer take you seriously.

As for your "govt. does not create jobs." Well it certainly doesn't when the Republican party blocks every effort to do so. And apparently you've never heard of the CC camps. Google it and then you can give up your govt. doesn't create jobs meme and maybe people will take you seriously.

As for now, I point and laugh.

Posted in: New jobs report presents mixed blessing for Obama See in context

The hard core change in the right of this country is stark to see. Just 4 short years ago, a man was considered to be a good president because, despite the economy, he kept us safe from terrorism by keeping the terrorist attacks in America to only 3 (granted, one of them was the biggest attack on America in the country's history post WW2).

Now, we have a president who has kept us safe from terrorist attacks for 4 years and nailed Bin Laden. Why all of a sudden does he have to be good at the economy? It was just fine to put a war on the credit card and listen to your president and go out shopping but it didn't make the world a better place, it made America worse.

Now republicans are stupid so I don't expect any of them to grasp Newton's laws of motion. The country was in a downward spiral when President Obama took control. He's had to stop the downward momentum, and then turn it around, with an entire political party trying to stop his every move. That takes time.

Republicans only have time for unfunded wars fought by other people. They are a disgrace to America and a pox on the world.

I have to wonder how many of those good Christians, waiting in line at the Chik-Fil-A have ever worked at a soup kitchen or visited the sick. You know, the stuff Jesus commands us to do.

But...hey, if you all want to congregate in one spot, and eat really crappy food that takes forever to get to you because of the massive line, there's no skin off my nose. Me and my family will go to KFC where there's no line.

The announcers said on a couple of occasions that the Brazilian team had more shots on goal than the Japanese but I watched the game on and off during work and every time I watched, the Nadeshiko team seemed to be dominating. Their passing was incredible crisp. They ran the Brazilians out of the building from what I saw (which was little more than half of the game).

My question here is where was Homeland Security? This guy buys thousands of rounds of ammunition over the internet and that didn't register with the NSA, CIA, FBI, or ATF?

These clowns can NOW legally follow what you do on the internet and a purchase of thousands of rounds of ammo didn't click with anyone.

This is a tragedy but It's also a law enforcement failure. Had someone monitored his online activity (something I'm totally against but with knowledge that there is no way that genie is ever going back in the bottle), this could have been avoided.

All of you people saying Japan should take care of their own defense aren't taking into consideration that for Japan to do so, they'll have dramatically increase their self-defense forces and that means a huge tax hike to pay for their defense. If the Japanese are at all like Americans, they will bite their nose off to spite their face if it means a tax break. The citizenry of Japan does not like the U.S. military but they certainly enjoy the perks of cheap self-defense. Do they hate the U.S. bases enough to pay for their own military, I highly doubt it.

Bertie,

When you say the Japanese do not want the U.S. military here, you are only talking about the citizenry. The powers that be realize that it would cost a lot more to maintain the same level of security that is offered by the U.S. military.

As long as the U.S. military is willing to do Japan's dirty work for her, at a bargain price at that, the citizenry can howl at the moon but that's not going to sway the PM or the Diet.
